Washington Free Agents Signings
The Commanders are re-signing TE Zach Ertz, source confirms.
One-year, $6.25 million deal. Could reach $9 million with incentives ( @TomPelissero 1st). Not a surprise Ertz is back, but a big move regardless. Huge RZ target for Jayden Daniels last season. Any other skins free agents, let’s talk here |

He played well last year. Had a few drops but overall did very good. Sinnott needs to get in the mix next year. Kid has wheels and can be a force. I was disappointed he didn't get more chances last year honestly.

The coaches said that Ertz played better than they expected last year, although I imagine Sinnott is going to get more chances this year. |

John Keim
@john_keim · 1h Washington definitely wants to get an edge defender. Among options: Trade for Trey Hendrickson; sign Khalil Mack (and perhaps draft one as well) or sign Josh Sweat. Different costs for sure; different levels of performance and long-term viability. DE incoming |

Re: Washington Free Agents Signings
My best guess right now of what we do
DE Mack Safety Talanoa Hufanga Cornerback market might get too hot for us. |

Re: Washington Free Agents Signings
I'm kinda surprised that we haven't resigned Chinn, I thought he turned into a good player toward ending of the season.

Still could see it happening Also, who’s the replacement for Allen? They are going to need another rotation DT…I would think who maybe play the run stouter? Or a 1 technique to let them change it up inside? |

Re: Washington Free Agents Signings
John Bates is back with a 3 year deal
|
Re: Washington Free Agents Signings
Tress Way back on a one year deal

He's probably going to want to test the market. I don't really understand why top receivers make over $30 million and top safeties are in the $18 million range for the most part. I understand the importance of a great wide receiver but I'd take 2 top safeties and then 2nd level WRs. |

Re: Washington Free Agents Signings
chin's play is replaceable. he's been here and knows things, but If someone offers crazy money, we probably don't chase.
also, this draft may have 30 RBs taken, potential starters down in the 5th round. So we probably don't do anything in FA there. |
Re: Washington Free Agents Signings
[Schefter] Washington reached agreement with former 49ers and Jets DT Javon Kinlaw, who rejoins Commanders GM Adam Peters after the two worked together in SF.

Re: Washington Free Agents Signings
Not really the DT I would have targeted, but they got that connection with Peters
|
Re: Washington Free Agents Signings
I’m really waiting on a special OT or OG signing.

Not particularly strong against the run at all, but i trust AP and co. |

At first glance, I dont get Kinlaw, he doesn't seem better than allen, who was a Captain, and not cheaper either and has a knee injury history. The only thing is he is 27. For below average stats, why not just draft a guy and save 10M a year? Or just keep Allen for a year while you groom a drafted guy? At first glance this seems like a biased hire, since I assume Peters drafted him. His performance doesnt seem to match the $ |

going be interesting if these guys don't work out and AP is just RR but instead panther retreads we have niner retreads ok going back to been optimistic |
Re: Washington Free Agents Signings
AP must really like him and thinks they can coach him up to his potential here.

well he is coming from the shit hole of the nfl |
Re: Washington Free Agents Signings
I wouldn’t be too quick to write him off. 9ers picked him in round 1 for a reason.

Re: Washington Free Agents Signings
Edge guys, with any size, are almost all gone, we need to resign Fowler fast
|
Re: Washington Free Agents Signings
Of course Fowler has a point, but maybe his public bitching is why he isnt re-signed by us. I d
I do think we need him https://athlonsports.com/nfl/washington-commanders-angry-sack-leader-dante-fowler-unleashes-nsfw-rant-on-free-agency |

Re: Washington Free Agents Signings
Ur not gunna like this writeup about Kinlaw, not just on his play, but his cursing out of press. I thought we wanted high character guys. This is nothing like Allen, a classy captain to look up to this guy will be compared to him. And interesting that we haven't resigned Fowler, perhaps due to his vulgar bitching on x? I dont get it. I would prefer Allen in a heartbeat to someone who threatens the press.

Re: Washington Free Agents Signings
Tunsil is a good player but I'm not sure if I like the move. It kinda feels like we gave up a lot for a player who will be 31 yrs old later this year.

Re: Washington Free Agents Signings
31 isn’t ancient he’s still a high level OT
Two future picks is basically a discount too |
