Underrated Redskins Players
Originally only was trying to watch the Bills vs. Redskins Super Bowl highlights. But once that ended, YouTube just kept feeding me Redskins wins throughout the years.
Pierre Garcon was a great signing. There are lots more. Who you got? |

Re: Underrated Redskins Players
Poor Jordan Reed. A total freaking stud at TE, but just couldn't avoid concussions. Whenever healthy though, he was so nice.

Good call. That's a guy that could have used those new helmet pads. |
Re: Underrated Redskins Players
I was also thinking about players that got away, some of whom were underrated in Washington -- Antonio Pierce and Ryan Clark come to mind.

Yeah, this thread is inclusive af. If they played for our team even for a game, throw them in this thread. There will lots of names others bring up that will remind me of names I haven't thought about for a while. - Pierce and Clark are 2 good examples as it relates solely to WFT |

Very great examples. |
Re: Underrated Redskins Players
It's so close to football season!! LFG!

Re: Underrated Redskins Players
Feel like Jon Jansen doesnt get the credit he should... D. Young... Terry Allen maybe in some circles... Pierson Pierlou or however the fuck.... Rob Jackson for a season or two... DJ Swearinger should have stayed... Tre Johnson til they started running him out only on whatever plays they were run or pass cant remember.... Sav Rocca, Chris Horton for 2 seconds lol ...
So many. So so many. |
Re: Underrated Redskins Players
Marcus Washington, Antonio Pierce, Brian Mitchell, Mike Sellers comes to mind to name a few. Love the history of this franchise and a lot of the players excluding Snyder of course.

Re: Underrated Redskins Players
drew brees was the one that got away. Danny could've gotten him. Of all the times to go cheap. Ryan Clark was also danny being cheap at the wrong time.
Alex smith was, imo, a great signing. the knee thing kind of wrecked it all, but that was such a high value/low cost pick up at the time. Shawn springs played way above cost until he couldn't stay on the field, but the first 2-3 years, he was aces. mike sellers was a real dude. Remeber when fullbacks were still a thing? |
Underrated Redskins Players
Carson Wentz, Heath Shuler, St Juste all come to mind. But nobody was more underrated and under appreciated than the great Albert Haynesworth!
Seriously there are so many … Tre Johnson, Stephen Davis, Chris Samuels sort of gets forgotten about because he gets sandwiched between the Hogs and Trent. Marvcus Patton. |
Re: Underrated Redskins Players
Monte Coleman and Don Warren.

Re: Underrated Redskins Players
One DT from Gibbs 2.0, his last name is Griffin. I cannot remember his first name.

|
Re: Underrated Redskins Players
Shawn Springs was a solid Redskin. Glad to see multiple people reference him.
I'm a little bias because I'm also a Noles fan, but Chris Thompson was a very good player for us when healthy. Very similar to Jordan Reed. Very good when healthy, but not healthy very often. |
Re: Underrated Redskins Players
Speaking of RB’s Joe Washington. Loved that guy.

Re: Underrated Redskins Players
Lohmiller. (Off the stone guy.)

Yeah that was a good year for the defense |

Re: Underrated Redskins Players
that gibbs 2.0 D was very good without having any pass real rush (good cover corners and run stuffing line) as an example that it can be done. Though they did let you hit the qb more back then.
|
Re: Underrated Redskins Players
Antonio Pierce was another dude on that 2004 defense also. Loved watching him play. Wish things would have worked out better for him at Vegas.

Re: Underrated Redskins Players
Mark Schlreth 10th round pick, yes the draft had 12 rounds back then.
Raeigh McKenzie 11th round pick Joe Jacoby undrafted. Jeff Bostic undrafted. Only Clemson player to win 3 super bowls. Monte Coleman 11th round pick. GM Bobby Beathard was underrated. One of the best. |

The funny thing is that that the Dolphins almost got Brees as well, but opted for Daunte Culpepper. Brees was coming off a bad shoulder injury and the only team that took a chance on him was New Orleans, and the rest was history. |

Brees' book explained this situation. The book is really good, I would recommend any football fans to read the book. |
Re: Underrated Redskins Players
For me, Alvin Walton. That Mohican and he loved to hit.
