Dallas Week, Part 1

OK, in part because I don't want to think about the Chicago game anymore, on to Dallas.

I hope we get Terry and Cosmi back, at least. Noah Brown, to me, has been hurt more than healthy, which is a shame, but I think they should focus more on the guys we have that are healthy -- I am fine with Terry, Deebo, McCaffrey, and Lane as our lead 4 at this point. Very excited to get Cosmi back, as I think he will help open up the right side for the running game and help shore up Conley (whose name I haven't heard called the last 2 games, which is a good thing).

I hope Deebo is healthy. He had 4 catches (on 5 targets) for only 15 yards last night (and 1 catch was 9 yards, so he averaged 2 yards on the other 3 receptions) -- I wonder if the nagging heel injury is causing us to reign him in. Given how bad the Dallas D has been (and how well Dak has played, as much as it pains me to say), we're going to really need to score some points on Sunday.

If we have Terry, Deebo and Cosmi back and healthy, I think we will. I also think JD5 will want to wash the stink of his last offensive play off too.

I'll give the Boys winning the shootout, since it's in Dallas. We will then win the rematch shootout at home.

i could be wrong but I think the only prediction you have gotten right was GB. In fact, when you picked us in the Chi game i felt a deep sense of doom. so with that in mind I'll say:

us 45
them 42

This is a huge game and a gut check for us. Both teams really need this one as both had tough losses and need a victory. We really need Terry, Cosmi back asap which will help the offense a ton and keep Deebo healthy. Think it will be a good game. Interested to see how JD5 responds after the fumble. Imagine he's laser focus going forward.

I just want Terry, Cosmi and Brown back on the field. We need these guys if our defense is gonna suck again
I just want Terry, Cosmi and Brown back on the field. We need these guys if our defense is gonna suck again
McCaffrey and Lane have played well in their absences. McCaffrey has hands and has been impressive on returns. Easy to see Lane has jets. Really want to see Terry, especially, get back asap. He has to be chomping at the bit to return and ball out.

I think whoever has the ball last will win.

Re: Dallas Week, Part 1

Brown just put on IR. Out at least 4 weeks. A real shame, but we can’t count in him and it’s hard to imagine he’s back next year.

You know, I was just looking at the scores of Dallas games this season:

PHI 24
DAL 20

NYG 37
DAL 40

CHI 31
DAL 14

GB 40
DAL 40

NYJ 22
DAL 37

CAR 30
DAL 27

They've had some real clunkers -- they got thumped by the Bears and just lost to Carolina. Even the pathetic Jets put up 22 points on them, and the Giants -- whose offense isn't scaring anyone -- put up 37 on them.

Our offense needs to -- and should -- score 40+ points. If we can generate consistent pressure on Dak, we should win this game. Between that and pounding the rock and keeping Dak off the field, this feels winnable. But they've got to play with a sense of urgency. I like the comment I heard from DQ -- “It’s the kind of loss that pisses you off. Those can have some real meaning if you lean into it.”

They need to lean into it and take out the frustration on Dallas -- beating the crap out of them in their house would wash a lot of this stink off.

Terry is able to practice and might play. Brown went on IR.

Cosmi and Jones full practices. Having both back should help the OL and Secondary respectively, though more so the former.

Really want to see us run the ball more early on. Owning TOP is going to be important.
Owning TOP is going to be important.
Yes absolutely. Dak has been excellent this year along with their offense. The defense that gets tired the fastest likely loses this game. I want to see lots of Bill, McNichols, and Rodriguez in this one. Smashmouth.

Re: Dallas Week, Part 1

This is basically a must win game, you can't start 3-4 and 1-4 in the NFC If you want to compete for the playoffs. Dallas Defense is awful, if we cant score 30 this week we are just not very good.

calia 10-16-2025 02:39 PM

Re: Dallas Week, Part 1

I think it is about as close to a must-win at this point in the season as it can be for a team hoping to compete in January. At 3-3, we have Dallas (away), KC (away), Seattle (home), Detroit (home), and then Miami (Spain). KC away is going to be hard as they're playing much better football right now. The Seahawks have oddly been better on the road than at home this season. And you know Detroit will want revenge from last season too. Dallas is our best bet for a win until week 11 with Miami, and if we're 3-7 at that time (and losers of 5 straight), the season will have been lost. We really have to beat Dallas and beat either Seattle or Detroit (to keep pace at 5-5 and not fall farther behind to NFC teams, having now lost to GB, ATL, and CHI) to have a realistic shot. We should beat Miami, and then we'll have a run of NFCE games (and Denver) after the bye -- and anything can happen in conference games as we know.

But I hope this weekend, they can stay focused on the task at hand. Beat Dallas.

Re: Dallas Week, Part 1

This actually is a Code-Red game. Don't see us beating the Chiefs and Lions (I'd gladly take 1 out of 2). Losing to the Bears was so fucking pathetic. Even with the refs cheating for us, we couldn't win. Sad sad sad.

This is either going to be the worst fucking week to play Dallas or the best. If we lose this one, the misery is just further extended. We win, all is right in the world and we're winning the Super Bowl.

Shit - McLaurin ruled out for Sunday. That’s really bad. We need WRs healthy if this is going to be a shootout. Ugh.

On the other hand, Cowboys CB Treyvon Diggs is out after suffering a concussion in an accident at home. That's crazy. So their secondary will likely be even worse.

I’m revising my prediction, I think our loss will be worse. Dallas is going to roll and we won’t have pieces to keep up. Instead of a shootout; expect a blowout loss. Frankly, 3 of our next 4 games could be blowout losses.

Not only is McLaurin out but Lamb is in. Receivers have been a problem for us. I do like Lane/McCaffrey, but there's only so far they can take us. SMH. Well we didn't expect to beat the Chargers, so hopefully we have a similar surprising outcome.

This is the game for our young guns to shine. I am hoping to see Luke and Ben both take big steps. It really depends on JD5 though he has to trust them and throw to them. It's definite that Ben hasn't gained JDs trust. I think he has 2 catches - a TD from Mariotta and a first down from Tress on a fake punt.

Re: Dallas Week, Part 1

Just an observation on Sinnott. He's shown some great blocking plays on multiple occasions. It feels to me that they're bringing him on more as Bates understudy, or at least first improving his blocking rather than using him more in the passing game. I wonder if this is because Ertz has played so well and is getting the big money while Ben is on a rookie contract? He doesn't seem very vocal and the staff seem to have faith in him, so I wonder if there's a plan in place that he's the heir apparent rather than being expected to dislodge Ertz?

I agree we need the young guys on O to step up, but I think it's probably more important to see that on D. Get those young, fast LB's on the field on passing downs and remove the weakness that is Wagner's pass coverage. I want to see Reaves and Martin step up and better cover deep (and for crying out loud TACKLE!). I want to see Sainristil get his head out of his ass and play like, or better, than he did last year.

I think the talent and capability is there. They have to show it.

Minus 3 WRs, still worried way more about our sorry ass defense.

And we're really only down 2 WRs, because no one really ever expects Noah Brown to play.

Jayden can beat Dallas if the defense can contribute anything.

The Buccs are down their top 2 WR, and Mike Evans has got to be in the HoF conversation, but their QB has kept them in the race. Daniels is capable of the same. I'm concerned but I have faith in the man.
