Race to 2025 playoffs
From USA Today:
AFC playoff picture 1. New England Patriots (9-2), AFC East leaders: The first team in the league to reach nine wins, they're in prime position to win the division for the first time since Tom Brady led them to first place in 2019 and maybe their first No. 1 playoff seed since 2017. Thursday night's defeat of the Jets moved the Pats past the idle Colts, but New England will need help to hang on to it into Week 12. Remaining schedule: at Bengals, vs. Giants, BYE, vs. Bills, at Ravens, at Jets, vs. Dolphins 2. Indianapolis Colts (8-2), AFC South leaders: The schedule's been soft, but you can't control whom you play − though the second-half lineup seems much less forgiving. A last-second Week 2 defeat of the Broncos gives the Colts the tiebreaker for second place at this point in time. Remaining schedule: BYE, at Chiefs, vs. Texans, at Jaguars, at Seahawks, vs. 49ers, vs. Jaguars, at Texans 3. Denver Broncos (8-2), AFC West leaders:They're also winning a lot of ugly games − as they did last week against Las Vegas. But wins are wins − and if the Broncos get one in Sunday's AFC West showdown with Kansas City, they'll overtake the Pats for the conference's top spot by virtue of a better record in AFC games. Remaining schedule: vs. Chiefs, BYE, at Commanders, at Raiders, vs. Packers, vs. Jaguars, at Chiefs, vs. Chargers 4. Pittsburgh Steelers (5-4), AFC North leaders: Don't look now, fellas, but you're only one game up on Baltimore for the division lead. Remaining schedule: vs. Bengals, at Bears, vs. Bills, at Ravens, vs. Dolphins, at Lions, at Browns, vs. Ravens 5. Los Angeles Chargers (7-3), wild card No. 1: Spirited defensive play has provided fresh evidence that maybe they can overcome their litany of offensive injuries. Remaining schedule: at Jaguars, BYE, vs. Raiders, vs. Eagles, at Chiefs, at Cowboys, vs. Texans, at Broncos 6. Buffalo Bills (6-3), wild card No. 2: They're starting to lose sight of the Patriots atop the AFC East after a pathetic performance at Miami in Week 10 − and the Bills have a much tougher schedule to finish out. Remaining schedule: vs. Buccaneers, at Texans, at Steelers, vs. Bengals, at Patriots, at Browns, vs. Eagles, vs. Jets 7. Jacksonville Jaguars (5-4), wild card No. 3: Tough loss at Houston on Sunday. But their Week 5 defeat of the Chiefs, who are also 5-4, could eventually loom large for both teams. Remaining schedule: vs. Chargers, at Cardinals, at Titans, vs. Colts, vs. Jets, at Broncos, vs. Colts, at Titans Looking in: 8. Chiefs: 5-4, 9. Texans: 4-5, 10. Ravens: 4-5 NFC playoff picture 1. Philadelphia Eagles (7-2), NFC East leaders: Something catastrophic (not uncommon in Philly) would have to occur for the defending champs not to be the first back-to-back winners of this division since they last did it ... 21 years ago. A superior record (6-1) in NFC games allowed the Eagles to move ahead of the Seahawks and atop the conference following Monday night's escape at Lambeau Field. Big game Sunday night against Detroit. Remaining schedule: vs. Lions, at Cowboys, vs. Bears, at Chargers, vs. Raiders, at Commanders, at Bills, vs. Commanders 2. Seattle Seahawks (7-2), NFC West leaders: Winners of four in a row, they currently have a better record in NFC West games than the Rams, who are also 7-2. But those clubs will meet in L.A. in Week 11. Remaining schedule: at Rams, at Titans, vs. Vikings, at Falcons, vs. Colts, vs. Rams, at Panthers, at 49ers 3. Detroit Lions (6-3), NFC North leaders:The offense responded Sunday as Dan Campbell assumed the offensive play-calling. Green Bay's loss Monday night moved Detroit atop the division. Remaining schedule: at Eagles, vs. Giants, vs. Packers, vs. Cowboys, at Rams, vs. Steelers, at Vikings, at Bears 4. Tampa Bay Buccaneers (6-3), NFC South leaders: You can afford to drop two of three − and maybe four of five − if you're in a division the Bucs have ruled since 2021. Remaining schedule: at Bills, at Rams, vs. Cardinals, vs. Saints, vs. Falcons, at Panthers, at Dolphins, vs. Panthers 5. Los Angeles Rams (7-2), wild card No. 1:Winners of four straight, all in dominant fashion, they have a strong case as the league's best team at the moment. Yet a Week 3 loss at Lincoln Financial Field could come back to haunt them when the NFC playoff field is seeded. Remaining schedule: vs. Seahawks, vs. Buccaneers, at Panthers, at Cardinals, vs. Lions, at Seahawks, at Falcons, vs. Cardinals 6. Chicago Bears (6-3), wild card No. 2:They've won six of seven since an 0-2 start but have struggled to beat seemingly weaker teams − as happened Sunday against the Giants. Big test Sunday in the Twin Cities. Remaining schedule: at Vikings, vs. Steelers, at Eagles, at Packers, vs. Browns, vs. Packers, at 49ers, vs. Lions 7. Green Bay Packers (5-3-1), wild card No. 3: Costly loss to Philly, which dropped the Pack out of the NFC North lead and nearly out of the projected playoff field altogether. They head to Week 11 just percentage points ahead of the 49ers (6-4). Remaining schedule: at Giants, vs. Vikings, at Lions, vs. Bears, at Broncos, at Bears, vs. Ravens, at Vikings Looking in: 8. 49ers: 6-4, 9. Panthers: 5-5 |
Re: Race to 2025 playoffs
In the afc, the likely playoff teams are:
Pats, Colts, Broncos, Ravens, Bills , Chargers and Chiefs. The Steelers, Jaguars and Texans likely will miss the playoffs. I think the only Superbowl contenders in the afc are the Pats, Colts, Bills, Chargers and Chiefs because of Mahomes. Ravens will make playoffs but they won’t go far and Broncos won’t beat anyone in the playoffs. In the nfc, the likely playoff teams are: Eagles, Seahawks, Lions, Bucs, Rams, 49ers, Bears The Panthers won’t win enough games and I think Packers are to inconsistent and will lose enough games to allow Bears and 49ers to slip by them. In the nfc, the only Superbowl contenders are Eagles, Seahawks, Rams and Lions. |
Re: Race to 2025 playoffs
Pats are good this year although I don't think they are SB contender yet. Colts, it all depends on whether Jones can stay hot. I think NFC team will win SB this year.
|
Re: Race to 2025 playoffs
If Ravens join the Eagles in the playoffs I'll be happy. It'll keep the lift lines low on game day. If some how both Steelers and Ravens make it in which looks unlikely, even better

Re: Race to 2025 playoffs
After week 11, it looks like the Chiefs and Ravens will get in and the Steelers and either Chargers or Jaguars don't get in. I don't see the Texans winning enough to get in.
In the NFC, only can see the Lions getting in and either the Packers or Bears miss out. I don't see the Panthers or Cowboys winning enough to get in. |

Would love to see that happen with Philly too, but someone has to win our division, and it won't be us or the Giants. At this point, though, I am rooting for the Bills to win it all, I think. I might have felt that way about Detroit too (nice to seem first timers) before our game with them which really pissed me off. It would be awesome to see the Chiefs, Steelers and Cowboys all miss the playoffs. |

25 years of Snyder and this year breaks you? Man, we’ve been through far worse. Remember, Snyder is gone. We’re heading back to the RFK site. We have actual adults running things now. Not much AP could have done in terms of the ridiculous injuries. If just a few key guys stayed healthy I think we’re hovering around .500 and still in the playoff hunt. A strong bounce back next year is very doable. |

Harris isn't Snyder, he's not going to make knee jerk GM and HC decisions just because of one season, especially as injuries are the prime reason we're losing. He's a more long term thinker. But I bet he's having words with AP about some of his decisions and wants to see better ones. |

the only knee jerk reaction i want is whitt OUT. And kliff on a VERY... hot seat next year. Dude needs to adjust his offense or go back to college, i've seen enough. |

If by more you mean a few times a game lol yea.... he needs to adjust that shit WAY more and adjust the damn scheme. Theres hardly a PA game in the shotgun, it sucks. It at least sucks the amount of friggin time we are in the shotgun. And running from the shotgun is also annoying especially on 3rd or 4th and short. Asinine |
Re: Race to 2025 playoffs
Playoffs are going to be fun. Very interested to see what Indy, Denver, and NE do in the playoffs with them being at the top currently. Indy @ KC is a big one tomorrow. Chiefs better win that one tomorrow if they want to go to the playoffs. Indy could send a huge statement in that game. Philly @ Dallas should be good also.

Huge game tomorrow between Chicago and Philly. Everyone picking Philly at home. They will need to get their offense going though. Caleb has some weapons and a good offensive coach in Johnson. Love this part of the year until Super Bowl.

100% agree - hard to do better with our 3 best pass rushers out, 2 starting CBs out, and our LBs playing with their feet in concrete. The Denver running game was no real threat and with no meaningful pressure on Nix, he's good enough to do what he did. We also put up over 400 yards of offense on that D (and had more yards than Denver did), and the team played with intensity throughout. I also liked going for 2 -- why in the world not -- and the playcall was solid (bad throw but McNichol was open). I actually think we're going to win a few more games this season (Vikes, maybe one of the Eagles games, and Giants) -- won't help with draft position but I just cannot bring myself to hope for them to lose. |

And i don't blame Mariota for that miss, they were in his face virtually from the snap, if he'd lobbed the ball over Bonitto, it likely wouldn't reach McNichols anyway. Good play call, bad execution; they had 6 blockers on the other 4 rushers and let Bonitto run free. I will always argue, you're not a real fan if you want your team to lose, regardless of the scenario. |

yea i don't get the fans . seems a lot folks sell there tickets so visiting teams can flood our home ? I guess the Snyder years and name change did so much damage that it will take a long time to get that back .. we got fans already wanting Terry gone and some hating on JD .. I get it but this team really doesn't gave much of a fan base to speak of .. I've been a FAN since 1969 .. i've been through it all, I do appreciate sites like this and we all are true fans on here ! Patriots and Drake Maye dropped 30 points on the Gmen and so called good defense in the first half
It’s been a weird year. I didn’t have Drake Maye as a MVP candidate |
Re: Race to 2025 playoffs
Not to belittle Mate, he's done what he's done, but I want to see him in the playoffs before he's anointed. All credit if he can do it when it counts most against a top D. The Pats are winning largely because their D is good and their O is playing largely mistake free, and a lot of that is on Maye, but they have had an easy schedule. If they beat the Bills again and then the Ravens, then they're going to win the division (they're not losing to the Jets or Dolphins barring a disaster) and I'd then agree he's a definite candidate if not a lock.
This year there hasn't been a clear candidate, possibly Stafford or Darnold (never thought I'd say that!). Going to be an interesting 4 weeks, given we've little else to watch out for (Commanders fans that is). |
Re: Race to 2025 playoffs
Could you imagine a Bears-Patriots Superbowl? We can call it the outta-nowhere bowl.
I actually can't see it happening -- the Bears D is not very good, and in the playoffs, they'll get exposed (they remind me a little of us from last year -- good offense masking a bad defenses and winning all the close games) Vrabel has those guys in NE playing hard; I cannot understand why the Titans let him go. I thought it was dumb then and looks even worse now. Feels like the playoff race is more open than any time I can recall in recent years. |

Re: Race to 2025 playoffs
Interesting race heading into the final 5 weeks of the season. 20 teams are legit playoff contenders.
There's a team that could enter the equation, not for a wild card, but for their division. The Bengals, who are 4-8 but only 2 games back from Ravens and Steelers and they still have a home game with Ravens. Of course, they need to beat Bills this week before their matchup with Ravens. |

Re: Race to 2025 playoffs
The Final Month(4 weeks) of the season. Playoff standings have been volatile. The contenders will establish themselves and pretenders fade away.
In the AFC, the Top 7 teams could be the final 7. The Colts are fading, especially with Jones done for the year. They are talking to Phillip Rivers, who retired 5 years ago. My guess of the only question marks, is do the Steelers win the North or do Ravens come back and win. The other question mark, do the Chiefs run the table and knock out the someone. The Bills, Texans and Chargers hold the tiebreakers. In the NFC, the Top 7 could also be the final 7. Question 1: Do the Bucs or Panthers win the South. The other question: Among the Packers, Bears and Lions; which one gets left out. Should be an exciting finish to the season. |

I said it to someone the other day, he's a good QB with the team around him, but he's not carrying a team like an elite QB. When you think of that photo of him, Tua and Jones (@ Alabama), you could say the same about all 3. |

Re: Race to 2025 playoffs
Final 3 weeks of the season. We should get clarity after this weekend.
AFC They have 9 teams contending for 7 spots. That might remain the same because the Ravens can still win the North because they still have a road game left with Steelers. Colts still have a home game with Jaguars and road game with Texans. Maybe grandpa Rivers can make some magic??? NFC The NFC has 10 teams competing for 7 spots. I expect the Boys to drop off after this week. Panthers has both games with Buccaneers for the division title left. Lions finish with road game vs Vikings and Bears. Can they knock out Bears or Packers? Should be a fun conclusion to the season. |

He throws like 4 passes on the route tree. I cannot stand the praise he gets. Its a team game, he has and will benefit A LOT from his supporting cast. Fuck him. And get that fuckin dumb ass play out of the fucking game its an embarrassment just like philadelphia sports and their fans are. Yep.... it's philly week. |
Re: Race to 2025 playoffs
Dallas got eliminated from playoffs but still expect them to blow us out.

Re: Race to 2025 playoffs
In the nfc, 5 teams clinched a playoff spot.
Green Bay and Detroit battling for a playoff spot. Lions can only clinch a wild card but Packers could win division if they win out and Bears lose out. Also, Bucs and Panthers battling for south. Only way either can make playoffs. In the afc, only 2 teams clinched. Really, the race is whether Colts can keep Texans out of playoffs. Other battle is North title between Steelers and Ravens. Only way in for these two; winning the Notth. |

Re: Race to 2025 playoffs
>>>>The Colts’ Monday night loss to the 49ers is the Bills’ gain. And the Jaguars’. And the Chargers’.
All three teams have officially clinched playoff berths, as a result of the 49ers beating Indianapolis, 48-27. The Broncos and Patriots also have clinched, nailing down five of the seven AFC berths. The remaining spots will go to the AFC North champions (Steelers or Ravens) or the third wild-card position (Colts or Texans). In the NFC, five teams also have clinched: Seahawks, Eagles, Rams, Bears, and 49ers. The final spots will go to the AFC South champion (Buccaneers or Panthers) and the final wild-card team (Packers or Lions). Of the 10 that have qualified, five were’nt playoff teams in 2024. The field of new playoff teams will be as high as seven, if the Colts and Panthers make it. Six, if only one of them does.<<<<< |
