Your expectations for 26 season?
A month away from camp opening, just what are your expectations for the 26 season?
|
Re: Your expectations for 26 season?
I expect us to be better than last year’s 5-12 disaster.
I expect the offense to bounce back and hopefully be as entertaining as it was 2024. I expect the defense to dramatically improve. At least to a middle of the road defense. I expect us to competitive in all our games and we are legitimately contenders for the playoffs. I expect at minimum 9-8 and we are in contention until the very end. I do acknowledge that our schedule and the very competitive nfc and nfc east, might kept us out iof the playoffs. We should at least bounce back to a winning season. Finishing 8-9 or worse would be disappointing. The media pegs us at 6-7 wins. Frankly, we go 6-11 or worse and I want Dan gone. I hope our depth holds up better, in case we get ravaged by injuries. I want us to still be competitive. We need to either be a playoff team this year or feel confident we can go on a run in 27; once we get more pieces. |
Re: Your expectations for 26 season?
Daniels plays 15+ regular season games, playoff locks.
12-14, good chance for the playoffs. Less than 12, another bad season, and the talks about JD being able to stay healthy, get real loud. |
Re: Your expectations for 26 season?
Playoffs.

Re: Your expectations for 26 season?
This is a defining year for Quinn and JD5. Quinn needs to have, minimally, a good year. JD5 needs to stay healthy. If he goes down especially early will be really bad for not only Commanders season but possibly his career.
If (massive if) JD5 stays healthy playoffs. No JD5 likely a losing record and no playoffs. Defense should be significantly better. Excited about the new dudes here and defensive coordinator along with Chig. HTTC! |
Re: Your expectations for 26 season?
I expect them to be 7-9, with offense ok, defense ok, and then we lure McDermott as our new head coach to finally get us a true Superbowl window for the next 3-5 years. At least that is my wish.
OR If we get a viable #2 WR, that would change things and we may push for a wild card for the next 3 years |

Always liked him. Thought his Bills got pretty unlucky with the big playoff loss to Denver last year with some unfavorable calls. If Quinn is over next year (hope not) wouldn't mind him coming to DC at all. |
Re: Your expectations for 26 season?
I fully expect the team to be in playoffs
|
Re: Your expectations for 26 season?
If we move on from DQ, last thing we need is a 3 straight defensive minded retread head coach.
For all his success in Buffalo; McDermott failed to get over the hump. We need to go with a young offensive coach; after the DQ era ends. |
Re: Your expectations for 26 season?
No more retreads if Quinn doesn't work out. I don't care if they are defensive or offensive minded, just give someone that has never been a head coach a chance. See Joe Freaking Gibbs.
|
Re: Your expectations for 26 season?
Way too early to talk about Quinn's replacement and hopefully he won't be. Jay Gruden and Jim Zorn didn't work so well when trying offensive guys and didn't have close to the success McDermott did. The 13 second KC miracle playoff drive and the hosing at Denver Bills got were highly improbable massive playoff losses. Give me a coach with a great defense who got his team to the playoffs 8/9 seasons any day of the week.

If we move on from Quinn, and I hope we don’t soon as that will mean bad things happen Sincerely, I’d want Tomlin. No losing seasons. Yes please. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Tomlin quite viable too, but playoff record sucks, losing the last 7 in a row, plus head to head Tomlin got his ass kicked. I like Tomlins fire and ability to get more from less which is an awesome sign. If he were coaching the Bills, would he have done better? Not sure, but in my opinion, they are both better coaches that who we have today, a player friendly coach who wins as much as the talent on the team and no more, unless its a fluke with a crazy offensive scheme with a phenom rookie QB with little tape. Let's face it, Quinn is a defensive coach and our defense sucks, that should tell you a lot. How about ex LB's who have terrible LB's. It's a bad sign. I like Quinn, so do the players which is great for recruiting and retention, but not sure it leads to sustainable over producing the talent on the team. Shit, I could have coached this team to 5 wins last year, let's be real. The only reason he shouldt already be fired is because of excuses and throwing his coordinators under the bus, even though he called the defensive plays later. How many times did Gibbs win with backups? He won in spite of injuries. That's what excellent coaches do. So regarding Tomlin, he has a touch of that skill, I see it. He gets more with less, he just gets out coached in the playoffs. If he had an offensive wizard with special playoff plays, he wins championships. I mean I don't mean to be a downer or anything but only Skins Homer's think we are winning 12 games. To me, this year is the true reality check. 2024 was awesome, going for it on every 4th down with nothing to lose. Ultimately we got our asses kicked by Philly when luck ran out. 2025 was a massive underacheivment, yes injuries but we won big the prior year with the same backup QB. No excuses, the coaching, the play and the preparation was poor. So Quinn gets a mulligan. 5 wins out of 17 is pure shit. In the context of winning 14 the prior year is catastrophicly bad. I dont think having 9 fewer wins than year one has ever been acheived by a NFL coach. It is mind bogglingly bad objectively. Remember, we closed out 2-10, and the last one was against Philly resting their starters and screwing up our draft order. Thinking this team can magically win is what fandom is all about, but this is a question of what is "real" If he get the team to play to their par skill level, they win 7-8.That is my realistic expectation. |
Re: Your expectations for 26 season?
Ya know, you may think I am all-over the place but I just watched Jayden Daniel's highlight last year and Ertz and Deebo were clutch. The truth is we have no idea who takes their place.
It is clear the NFL knows how to minimize Daniel's running explosives, so those are history. I understand developing his traditional qb under center qb skills. This year is a completely unknown. We have no clutch Ertz, we have no clutch Deebo. All we have is one clutch McClauren and maybe Rachaad White. The NFL caught up to Jayden quick, just like RG3. RG3 never developed as a pocket passer, but Jayden can. This is the year we find out. Can Jayden just pass the damn ball or not? It sure would help if we had more WR/TE talent to find out. Right now, I am under impressed, although I am hopefully at TE and 3rd down RB White. WR beyond Terry sucks. If we want our qb to develop from RG3 to Steve Young we need a Taylor. We don't have one yet. Steve Young is the model for Jayden Daniel's. I am not sure a run first scheme is the right fit for that. I think we need to think long and hard about how to develop Daniel's long term |
Re: Your expectations for 26 season?
Too much is riding on coordinators that really don't have any experience. At best, I say they go 10-7. At worst, I'll say 7-10.
|
Re: Your expectations for 26 season?
My final prediction is leaning towards 8-9/9-8. We are starting 0-3, before wins come. Our final record depends on whether Dallas needs the finale. They do, we finish 8-9; they don’t, we finish 9-8. At best, we are a fringe wild card team but I think there’s to many holes for us to be a playoff team.

Re: Your expectations for 26 season?
based on another thread this team won't win One game ...0-17 we already suck !! no need to play games !! Fire DQ! Fire AP .. where is Dan Snyder when we need him!! Geez guys 2 pre season games and your on the ledge😳😀.. The schedule is brutal , every team has injuries, we can win 10 games or we could lose 10 games .. my pick is 9-8 but 10-7 is possible !!

If we dont have a winning season, we should seriously reconsider our head coach. Jayden's window deserves it |
Re: Your expectations for 26 season?
Well as the injury bug is already striking, I'd say 7-10.
|
Re: Your expectations for 26 season?
6 wins on the low side, 9 on the high side. I still see a flawed team that has to play a brutal schedule. Let's be realistic, the o-line is going to have a hard time. If they sustain one more injury which is going to happen, it's going to be code red. They're a mess w/out Allegretti who is just a solid player, nothing spectacular.
Can JD stay upright? I say no. Not with this group in front of him. So those are two things that are going to really hurt this team. Pass pro and a fragile QB. Blough being a 1st time OC, how is he going to handle this? Gotta leave guys in to protect JD. Defense has nowhere to go but up so they should be better but at best they're a middle of the pack group. Corner is going to be an issue. They have Amos as their #1 guy and he is still hurt from last year. Pass rush should be way better. And then you have a very suspect kicker. Having a good kicker is crucial to winning in the NFL. We don't have a proven guy there. |
Re: Your expectations for 26 season?
Everyone already dumping on DC. lol. He's just an average coach. You give him good players and he can win. He's just not a difference maker type of coach. That guy was Ben Johnson possibly and he didn't want to come here.
Who else is out there that is better? Ok Tomlin is better but does he want this job?McDerrmott? He's the same guy as DQ. He had horrible breakdowns in the playoffs on his side of the ball. No thanks. Some heat needs to come down on AP if this season goes in the toilet. |

I'll go further and say it's possible we do well since these guys haven't been coordinators before so there is no game film for teams to prepare for. That said, we also don't know how well they are at in-game adjustments either. I see this team being built to save jobs, not to contend. I'll stick with my 10-7 at best and 7-10 at worst. We could sneak out a couple wins just with the fact that teams won't have film on our offenses and defenses, but that won't last long though. |
Re: Your expectations for 26 season?
DQ and AP on the hot seat.
This needs to be a double digit season or they get canned. I’m not impressed with these one year contract bums. Expectation: 10 wins |
Re: Your expectations for 26 season?
My expectations a few weeks ago was about a 10 win season with the new players. Now, with the Tunsil injury and the center position/negligence I am going to change that to around a 6 win season.
Lines are paramount in football. Without an effective one in the league nearly impossible for the offense to work. Hope I'm wrong and the team is better than my prediction. |
Re: Your expectations for 26 season?
It sounds like our o-line is a bunch of dirty taints. This season might get very long very quickly if Jayden gets his ass kicked behind the line.
|
Re: Your expectations for 26 season?
I’m starting to think we start 1-5 or 0-6 and Dan is gone at the bye.
|
Your expectations for 26 season?
This roster is shaky at best. I am just not a fan of the “work” AP has done so far.
Im thinking 5-6 wins right now. |
