One year $12M per Schefter

Re: Multiple sources: Washington is signing WR Stefon Diggs
Matty with the breaking news! Love this. I wonder who is gone? McCaffrey?

Re: Multiple sources: Washington is signing WR Stefon Diggs
Gotta keep Lane to return punts.

Re: Multiple sources: Washington is signing WR Stefon Diggs
As good as he's been, I actually think he's underrated. Highly productive every season with 7 1,000 yard seasons. Fiery guy who wants the ball. No better wr could have signed or likely even drafted.

Re: Multiple sources: Washington is signing WR Stefon Diggs
Love this move! I think we’ll keep 6 WR’s.
Terry, Diggs, Williams, Lane, Brown, Luke. I’m guessing Burks, Jefferson, and Luke battle it out for the last spot. |
Re: Multiple sources: Washington is signing WR Stefon Diggs
Love it! Wouldn't be surprised if we keep 7 with Lane predominantly ST's. As of now Jefferson maybe looks most likely to be cut. Plenty of camp left though.

Re: Multiple sources: Washington is signing WR Stefon Diggs
Don't love the move -- Diggs could negatively affect the locker room culture. He's productive, for sure, but at 32 he's going to have a drop off sooner or later, and the Pats aren't exactly flush with WR talent after AJ Brown and saw fit to let him walk. By all accounts, the WRs in camp have all looked pretty strong, even if they're not established like Diggs.
What I am looking forward to seeing are the Aiyuk Instagram posts in light of this news. That is going to be a "getcha popcorn" spectacle. |
Re: Multiple sources: Washington is signing WR Stefon Diggs
I like it. He produced for the Bills last year, that’s all we are asking.
Out long term 2nd wr and Terry’s eventual replacement; will be acquired in 2027. |

They also signed Doubs and have Boutte. Maybe it was a money thing? Or maybe they thought there was going to be fire because there was smoke. |

Re: Multiple sources: Washington is signing WR Stefon Diggs
This makes a HUGE difference in our playoff aspirations!
First a viable CB in Douglas, now Diggs. Those were my top two concerns other than center. Not to mention Terry injury insurance, no one else could have done that Congrats!!!! |

Amos and Mikey are pretty young on the outside, but Rasul Douglas out there is minimal drop-off. And our new ex lion feisty slot dude, who actually did well on the outside shutting down a couple of top WRs. So its decent, not even sure Moreau makes the squad, but at least he knows the scheme. All these guys can pick off passes except Amos. We may just keep 4. I actually think Douglas is our best corner at this point in everyone's career, so from that standpoint, I see ur point. I overall love the Douglas and Diggs signings, they were needed! |

The production is too good and the need too great. Jayden is still on a rookie contract and needs dudes. Diggs is a dude and it's only a 1 year contract. Like the move. |

Proven talent with gas in the tank and an obvious upgrade for our roster. On a one year deal what’s not to like?

Per ESPN: Diggs is bringing his skills to DC No. 1 in catch score last season (98) on a 0-100 scale No. 1 in the NFL among WRs last season in reception percentage, catching 82.5% of his targets 2nd-best receiver in the NFL last season according to ESPN's receiver scores Him and Terry could be a very nice 1-2 punch. Add in Chig and Antonio Williams someone should be open virtually every passing play. |
Re: Multiple sources: Washington is signing WR Stefon Diggs
I like the move, not least as it draws the line under the Aiyuk drama. Agree it should give us a legit 1-2-3 with Williams, plus Chig. The Pats letting him go wasn't a massive surprise given the off field drama brewing, but that's done with so...

Re: Multiple sources: Washington is signing WR Stefon Diggs
Not really worried about Diggs in the locker room. He's now 32 and this is where production falls off for wr's. Actually, it tends to fall off right at 30 so at 32 what are the chances he has the production of last year? Plus you have two starting wr's in their 30's.
Kinda torn on it. I just think bringing in 32 year old wr that has been on numerous teams the last few years won't do much. |
I just think bringing in 32 year old wr that has been on numerous teams the last few years won't do much.
He put up over 1,000 yards last year receiving and has nearly every year he has played. You seriously don't think Diggs produces minimally 500 yards receiving? People can slam his attitude and off the field issues all they want, but no one can deny he's talented, productive, and wants the ball.

Agree Plus if the wheels come off the offense bus this year at least we know we threw everything at it |
Re: Multiple sources: Washington is signing WR Stefon Diggs
I’ll bet that house Aiyuk bought in Northern Va is back on the market for a song. Anyone need a place in Ashburn?

I think you can get that same production out of one of the guys you already have. And by their own analytics dept, they think the production falls off at 30. Time and time you see it with really good and great wr's. To me it's just another one year rental similar to Debo. But I get it, bringing someone with proven production is not a bad thing. I just don't think we see that same production from last year. Whether he stays on good behavior remains to be seen. |
I think you can get that same production out of one of the guys you already have.
Really? Then, other than McLaurin a given, then why have any of them never done it before? Our options are highly limited now that it is already August and our need is great. I cannot emphasize enough that JD5 is on a rookie contract still also. If the other dudes can contribute great, have them earn it and put up numbers just have to compete with Diggs now. Diggs has done it for a long time and intends on here also. Not like a 5 year deal only 1.

We went through this same thing last year with Debo. And I had the EXACT same argument. Debo had the kind of year I expected. He was solid but not worth giving up a draft pick. Probably could have got 700 yards out of someone already on the roster if they were given the opportunity. Here we are a year later and I expect the same thing this year from Diggs. If he can stay healthy he'll get around 600 to 700 yards. I have no doubt that you can get that with one of the guys we have. Will Diggs be happy with getting a few balls a week? I'm not against the signing btw. I'm just not really for it. |

Diggs receiving production is significantly better than Deebo. 7 1,000 yard season including one last year is no joke. Deebo didn't have Terry nor JD5 which Diggs should making his potential contributions far greater than Deebo's besides the fact he's a better wr. What would your plan be for wide receiver now in August instead of signing Diggs? |
