I've just never been able to get into those books or movies.

I don't get the whole Harry Potter thing, but for those that do you must be loving life right now.

HAHA! Nice quote. It STILL feels too child-like to me.

my wife got me into the movies (She loves the books, but I refuse to read anything besides magazines, some non-fiction, and jimmy buffett/pirates/beach reading material at this point...), and they are really good. if you haven't seen any of the 3, give them a try.

my wife has all 6 books, but has only read the first 3...i told her she'd better have the 4th one finished before the movie comes out in November.

I never knew that J.K. Rowling was a woman. I saw her picture on CNN. Is she really as much of a hottie as the picture says? Or was that just a REALLY good picture?

She's no beast, but it's a very good picture.

Those pictures seem to get better as she sells more books.

I haven't read any of the books but I keep thinking maybe I should read at least one to see what the hype is all about. I saw the first movie, thought it was decent but I guess I might have enjoyed it more had I read the book

I read the first five and I'm in the middle of the sixth right now. So far so good. I wouldn't say it's any better than the previous ones but it's definitely just as good. My wife bought the book first thing Saturday morning and finished it by Sunday afternoon. She wasn't thrilled with the ending but I'll have to wait until I finish it to find out why.

Anyone else thinking that Rowling's ex-husband is kicking himself about now??

"Damn, If I'd known, I'd have done the damn dishes"

Finished the new one last night. All I'll say is that I'd be shocked if there was only one more after this one.

I get the feeling the last book is going to be L-O-N-G.

I didn't think I'd like the movies as much as I have and would like to read atleast the first one. I don't get the huge hubbub about the series, but the thing I absolutely love about what the HP books have done though is get a butt load of kids interested in reading.

Now if only there could be a friendly warlock that did heroin to get kids interested in doing drugs, we'd be set!

I agree with you on that. Each book seems to be longer than the the next. There is going to be a lot of spell fighting in the last book IMO.

anyone else hear that the newest HP movie is gonna be PG-13? from what I have heard and read about it, this one is supposed to be pretty dark which is pretty sweet.

It wouldn't surprise me considering I have read the book ( also own all 6....got to wait 2 years for the final book:frusty: ) and the book has one of the Hogwarts children die.

The Goblet of Fire was an absolutely awesome movie as well as funny as hell. the Valdemont/Potter wand fight was very reminiscent of Vader/Luke lightsaber fight at one point. and the superman returns and the new king kong trailer playing before the movie were freakin sweet as crap. oh and it definitely lived up to it's PG-13 rating.

I'm not as big of a fan of Harry Potter as my fiancee and her mother, but I did enjoy the movie. I think it's the best HP movie that has been released to date.
