Skins fined $43,000
For having too many players on the practice squad last year. What a stupid mistake.

Re: Skins fined $43,000
No new car for Danny. :(

Re: Skins fined $43,000
I thought it was $45,000. But either way, so what? I mean here's how I see it, what's $45,000 to the Danny?
I mean I don't think this particular instance gave us an advantage, but you do whatever it takes to win and if the penalty is a mere $40,000+ then what's the harm to Danny really? |
Re: Skins fined $43,000
uh-oh somebody call the front office police
|
Re: Skins fined $43,000
Ya I remember reading last year how the Skins had found a creative way to keep 9 guys on the practice squad instead of 8. Guess it wasn't that creative.
Anyways $43K is nothing to Mr. Snyder. He'll probably do it again this year if it helps the team. |
Re: Skins fined $43,000
call in the lawyers, danny needs the money to feed his family
|
Re: Skins fined $43,000
lol 45k is like throwing some spare change out into the street for danny.

Re: Skins fined $43,000
No impact on the team. No suspensions. No draft picks forfeited. No impact to the salary cap.
So this gets a big fat WHO CARES. |

jk
Seriously, though. I mean, who eats plain cheese anymore? |
Re: Skins fined $43,000
I think most teams would pay 45,000 to have an extra player there practice squad. Good job Danny boy. ;)
ps I still like cheese pizza. :embarrass |
Re: Skins fined $43,000
I'm glad you asked BrudLee. My little brother had a pizza party for his 10th birthday and we ordered 10 pizzas, most of them pepperoni and they only asked for cheese. Come on now!

Re: Skins fined $43,000
What I find annoying is that it is sloppy, the practice squad thing, not the cheese.

Re: Skins fined $43,000
Exactly, RR. To me this falls in the stupid mistakes category that we so wanted to get away from. Oh well.

Re: Skins fined $43,000

Ever hear the expression "no blood, no foul?" |
Re: Skins fined $43,000
Is it boneheaded? Sure.
Am I going to get up in arms like we just signed Mark Brunell to a $42 million contract? Um, no. |
Re: Skins fined $43,000
i've only ever eaten plain cheese pizza ;)

Re: Skins fined $43,000
Put me in the "Who Cares?" camp.......this is SO not news.

Re: Skins fined $43,000
I guess Gibbs and Williams are the 'boneheads'
During a Nov. 12 practice, the Redskins used one more practice-squad player than they were allowed, leading to the fine. Two days before that practice, Washington had cut receiver Gari Scott from the practice squad. But two days later, without any other practice-squad player being released, Scott practiced, giving the Redskins nine practice-squad members on the field. Redskins coach Joe Gibbs and assistant head coach for defense Gregg Williams said afterward they had found a loophole making this legal. NFL rules stipulate that clubs must submit any roster moves by 4 p.m. The Redskins apparently believed they could use the extra player during practice as long as another player was cut by 4 p.m. But the league said there was no such loophole. Re: Skins fined $43,000
Big freakin' deal! Why are we trying to find ways to complain about our team?
