Dallas or Philly?

Who are you pulling for this weekend? If you take out all emotion you pull for Dallas so we can get 2 games (yes, I am counting Denver as a win) on Philly. But then again, it's Dallas.

Re: Dallas or Philly?

Iggles.. Bury Dallas at 2-3.. That puts them -2 (worst case) in the loss column and the seeds of doubt will start to creep in.. I think they are starting to come apart a little bit (Allen jacking up Cortez, Bledsoe throwing his helmet) and a losing record plus being 0-2 in the division will have the Grouper looking towards retirement sooner rather than later..

Definately the Iggles. Everyone knows they will be there in the end. Hope they stomp the cowturds in the ground and leave them in turmoil.

I will never root for the Cowboys unless that one victory by them clinches a spot for us in the playoffs.

Re: Dallas or Philly?

I am actually kinda torn on this one. I figure Dallas has another div. game in week 6 v. the Giants, which they could lose. Add to that they have to come to the re-born FEDX and face getting swept by us.....

I guess what I'm getting at is let's hope Philly will lose as many as possible div. games, 'cause Dallas has a tough roe to hoe anyway.

Even then that would be hard...

As for this weekend: Go Iggles!

I hate to say this, but I'm a Redskins fan first and a Cowboys hater second. If it means that we would be more likely to win the division with the Eagles losing, then so be it.

I dont care, I'm rootin for the Cowboys bigtime. We need Eagles looses and I dont care who they are too.

Re: Dallas or Philly?

Gotta hope for an Eagles loss, I hate Dallas more but Philly is the defending NFC champ and we need them to take every loss possible, especially after the bullet they dodged last week.

BrudLee 10-05-2005 09:46 AM

Re: Dallas or Philly?

The Eagles can only dodge so many bullets. This game is more important to the Cowboys, who absolutely can't afford to lose two division games at home. With the Eagles as banged up as they are, I'd expect an ugly Cowboy win on Sunday.

But aren't all Cowboy wins ugly, really?

You forgot to add Witten blowing up at his team cause Bledsoe didn't throw it to him. :laughing-

I think Philly is the better team, so it much as it pains me, I would pull for Dallas. However, in actuality, I hate the Eagles moreso than the Cowb!tches, if you can believe that.

Re: Dallas or Philly?

Great question!

If the Skins keep doing their job week in and week out like they've been ... it ain't gonna matter!

Hail To The Redskins!

Mathematicially speaking, the situation seems to suggest that a Philly loss would be more beneficial to us at this point ... but I probably won't cry too hard if Dallas is two and one half games back of the Redskins after 5 weeks.

Emotionally speaking, I think we are in a win/win situation.

Re: Dallas or Philly?

What's the spread?

Should be Eagles by 6. I would love to see Dallas pull this one out, because the Eagles are better. And if our skins maintain a pace similar to the one they have set, we will have to worry about the Eagles record in a few months.

My hatred for the Eagles far out does my hatred for the Cowboys. Would a defensive lineman please stuff his foot in T.O's ass please?

We just need to take care of business, thats all I know. As the week has progressed, i've had more and more confidence in our chance this weekend, and I'm pumped up about it right now.

Re: Dallas or Philly?

I hear what everyone is saying about the Eagles taking a loss being important for us. But there's too much football left to think that way. I can see that kind of thinking if we were close to the end of the season, but at this point in the season we have by no means left the Cowboys in the dust.

It's great to think of the Redskins winning the NFC East, and it definitely could happen. But let's be real here, the Eagles are likely going to take it. I'd like to see wildcard contenders get bumped off instead at this point in the season.

Either way it's good, one of them takes the L. But there's no way the Eagles are going to miss the playoffs. It's just not going to happen. So if they're going to be taking a spot anyway, they might as well knock some other contenders down along the way. Especially Dallas.

Actually that pretty much makes the most sense for a Cowboys lost. And more than anything else it would further hurt their confidence early in the season. I say an Eagles victory is a win/win situation.

I changed my mind from an earlier post.

In a prefect world it would end in a tie.

Dallas ....the Eagles are my #1 hate team in sports.... dont count the eagles in just yet.... MC Nabb is hurting and if he goes down...The eagles won't make the playoffs...

12thMan 10-05-2005 01:02 PM

Re: Dallas or Philly?

Even if McNabb goes down, yes even without McNabb, this team can still make the playoffs. I think they are that good.

Re: Dallas or Philly?

Close your eyes and hold your nose, but rooting for a Cowboys win is in your best interest. If the Eagles run away with the Division again this year, you can count on meeting them in Week two of the playoffs rested and Loaded. Yeah they make the playoffs with or without mcNabb, But can a tougher NFC East prevent them from getting a bye?

If you want to let your heart rule your head, just imagine meeting the eagles in Philly in mid Janurary after they have had a week off.

Yeah. I thought so. Go Cowboys

coggs 10-05-2005 03:32 PM

Re: Dallas or Philly?

the cowb!tch fan is correct. The Eagles will make the play-offs with or without McNabb. They have a solid offense and an excellent D.

My usual desire when NFC east rivals play.

But it would be very nice to see Dallas collapse.

I agree, the Eagles are the team that needs the loses. And as much as I hate Dallas, it really isnt that hard to hate the Iggles and root against them.

I'm rootin for the Cowboys,(did I just type that?). Around here, all the Eagle's fans knees are getting wobbly because they are so worried about McNabb's injury. A good hit on McNabb and a Cowboys victory would bring on a week long smile for me.

Eagles must lose, early and often. I want the Eagles to lose every single week. I hate how there making a hero out of Donavan. Ya know if the Chiefs could of at least put a helmet on him he might not of wanted play so hard. Down with Donivan..... :FIREdevil

Re: Dallas or Philly?

I say a Philly win but they lose Mcnabb for season. I saw people say Philly makes playoffs without Mcnabb maybe they do but it would be as wildcard and not Division champs if they lose him.

RedskinRat 10-05-2005 07:05 PM

If McNabb goes down they're done.

Re: Dallas or Philly?

I don't feel bad, lets have dallas win this one. It helps me redskins.

If we are going to win this division we don't need to worry about the cowgirls but if we are aiming wildcard then obviously eagles should winbut i think being early i would rather keep the teams below us until we start losing. If we were 1-2 i would be all for them egirls but we aren't

Exactly my point. Don't worry, Dallas will create losses this season, probably around eight or nine of them, but if they can hang a BIG 'L' on the Eagles, well that is just one step closer to no bye week for them.

From a Redskin fan's perspective, this only helps if the Redskins actually make the playoffs. We'd be getting ahead of ourselves if we thought about whether we met the Eagles after a bye or in the first round. Jeez people, it's week 5. We need to make the playoffs first and foremost. Dallas, NYG, Carolina, Atlanta, Seattle, Tampa, and STL are the teams we'll compete against for a wildcard spot. They're the ones that need to lose.

We're not taking the NFC East from the Eagles. It's just not going to happen, though I hope desperately that it does.
