(Merged Threads) Any Positives????

Well, besides the turnovers, at least our offense seems to be clicking pretty good. Moss continues to be extremely impressive and Brunell continues to be playing pretty well too. Other than that, there alot of negatives:

1) Injuries to some key guys ---- We need Shawn Springs back in a bad way, and Griffin going out concerns me as well....also, Casey Rabech's injuries looks like it will sideline him for a game or two.
2) Turnovers - 'nuff said, but I've already stated that in another thread.
3) Penalities...see #2!
4) I'm sorry, but in two weeks time, the defense has given up three huge plays - two runs for TD's last week against Denvers, and one screen pass for a TD that shouldn't have happened against this defense. Can't really blame all three turnovers in putting pressure on our defense. Two of those turnovers came deep in the opponent's territory. I'm tellin' ya, the defense just doesn't look as impressive to me as they did last year. Don't get me wrong, I do think they're a good defense, but their missing something!

Griffen was back in the game today, I wouldnt be too worried about him.

Re: Any Positives????

yes, the positives are that I now know for sure that we need to bench Dockery, and need to draft or acquire some solid offensive and Defensive linemen. T

Moss and Brunell look good.
Our offense moves the ball.
We've still got a winning record.

Re: Any Positives????

Moss and Brunell did look good, but after Moss got 160 yards he was taken out of the game, he quit early. Brunell didn't come through in the clutch.

Re: Any Positives????

Don't blame it all on Moss and Brunell. I don't believe they quit early or didn't come through..the fact of the matter is, we can't turn the ball over and expect to win every week. It's starting to catch up to us now.

I didn't break anything....came close.

Re: Any Positives????

It was alot easier to defend our offense down the stretch too, considering our only opetion was to throw the ball.

On the previous drive, I was a bit surprised we didn't go for it on fourth down.

Plenty of positives... if we can get some guys healthy on D (Springs) I think we'll be fine.

The sky isn't falling.

If NYJ was on the phone inquiring about Ramsey a couple of weeks ago we should've suggested them giving up CB Justin Miller for him.

one positive

from my calculations Santana Moss is the leading reciever in yards so far this year.

We look like we can beat anyone if we don't turn the ball over. Seriously, if we play like that, and protect the ball, we can win just about every game ahead of us.

Re: (Merged Threads) Any Positives????

One positive is that, to me, we looked like a better team than them, and KC's a good team. Particularly impressive was the fact that we moved the ball as well as we ever have under Gibbs II. In the end, we lost the game by turning the ball over - we weren't beaten. I'm definately concerned about the backwards steps our defense is taking (remember last year when we all said "if only we could score 21 a game") but we are looking more and more like a coherent, fundamentally sound, balanced offense every week. I think if we played them 10 times we'd win seven. Now let's smack the shit out of the NFL's worst team next week and regroup from there.

We don't have to play at Mile high or Arrowhead anymore this year!

The team looks lots better than last year on offense, and our biggest question mark--QB play--has been one of the real bright spots. And the team never quits. Down late on the road we still had a shot. I like that about this team. Here's another thing--I for one do not believe we have played our best football yet this year. When we do, I think we'll be a force.

We'll see...

Re: (Merged Threads) Any Positives????

I think we can take alot of positives from both games we lost, the thing is, I feel that way every year. I always feel like we are taking positves from losses, I think we need ot turn these positives into wins. We are defintley looking very good offensivley, and will hopefully be healed up on defense as I think Springs makes a huge difference. We need to make a statment vs SF next week. No Letdowns.

Re: (Merged Threads) Any Positives????

Santana Moss; what else can you say other than "We knew he had that kind of ability all along". I recall earlier in the spring when we made the move to get him some had doubts, some said give him a chance in JG system and don't doubt until we see whether he's capable of delivering the goods. He's been nothing short of amazing, and I just hope and pray he stays healthy.

As well as we have played at times this year, I still don't think we have played our best football yet. There's always room for improvement, and I honestly feel we can play even better. Based on the effectiveness of our passing game so far this season. there can be no doubt that dismissing Coles and Gardner was not the mistake some had earlier concluded.

"Moss" # 1

Re: (Merged Threads) Any Positives????

I think Moss is the first true BIG play receiver we have had since Gary Clark. We had some really good receivers since the posse, but alot of those guys had the "potiential." Moss is using it!

Re: (Merged Threads) Any Positives????

The three biggest positives for me are the play of:

Santana Moss
Chris Cooley
Brunell

I didn't believe Brunell still had it in him, but he's proven me wrong. Would like to see more scoring from the "O", but Brunell has played better than I thought he would.

Wish I could say one of my positives was the "D". Maybe I could add M. Washington to the list and possibly ST, but that's it.

Bottom line - The O is much improved but still needs to put up more points. The D has gone a bit downhill compared to last year - play LA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
