Player Hating
On Nfl.com they rank all the NFC teams and Gil Brandt is the only one who mentions the redskins, but he also names half of the NFC. But Pat Kirwin says that the Buc's are the only team who don't have a conference loss in the NFC while we have gone 4-0 to the Buc's 3-0. It just seems like people refuse to acknowledge that the redskins even exist and are tied for first in the best division at the time.

Re: Player Hating
I was listening to the drive yesterday on Fox radio and I didn't know whether to be totally pissed or laugh at this one caller.
He was obviously a Giants honk, and he gave 4 reasons why the Giants will win the east. One of his reasons was because the Skins have no offense. First off, this guy obviously has his head up his butt because the Skins have the #2 overall offense right now, and second, I couldn't believe Chris Myers and Bryan Cox didn't call him out on that. Well I guess it's not that surprising, seems like whenever they discuss the East, it's always all about the Giants, Cowboys and Eagles. It's like the Skins are an afterthought at 4-2. The up and down Cowboys still get more run, I don't get it. Myers even mentioned he thought the Giants have the best offense in the East, again not even a mention of the Skins. I've gotta start calling that show and setting these guys straight. Either that or let's start emailing Myers and setting the record straight chrismyers@foxsports.com |
Re: Player Hating
I agree. I try so hard to stay away from talking about "media bias" but it's there.
It doesn't bother me a WHOLE lot, but it's just a little irritating when a nice story would be about how the Redskins moved from the bottom in offense to the top this year. They'd much rather be all over Parcells's johnson talking about how the Cowboys have the SAME EXACT record but play with less consistency and fold WAY more often than the Redskins do. |

Ok you are allowed to have an opinion, but did you bother to look at the facts? The Division Leading WASHINGTON REDSKINS have the #2 overall offense in the NFL and the team that is #1, Seattle, has played 1 more game than the Redskins. I also don't understand why the media is so hyped up on the Giants? What Defense's have they played? Out of 6 games the Giants offense has only played 1 top 10 Defens and the was the Cowboys, and the Giants lost that game. If you were to use a computer and access nfl.com you would see that the Redskins played against 3, yes 3 top ten Defenses and BEAT them!! Yeah, the Giants ofense may score points, but they loose to the teams that have good Defenses. It would be nice for some people to give credit where credit is due, but for some reason the media has a hard time in doing so. So until then if you want to watch what is the BEST offense in the NFC EAST then look no futher than the next WASHINGTON REDSKINS game. A Die Hard Redskins Fan, Adam R. Ehrensberger |
Re: Player Hating
Far too concilliatory! They are a bunch of know nothings. I'd rather have them saying crap about how we're going to fold instead of saying nothing. I guess they figure if they ignore the Skins they'll go away.

Re: Player Hating
the way I look at is, dont give us any credit, I like it that way. The underdogs that is motivation enough for us to go out and kick everybodies head in. the fact that our offense is # 2 shows something that should be acknowledged by everyone. We have faced Chicago, Dallas, Denver, and Denvers defenses. They are all pretty damn good. We moved the ball well against all of these, except for Dallas,(disregarding the last 2 minutes). Once we win some quality games, like NY and Philly, we will start getting our props. But, If I were to have my way I would keep it the way it is. Seems like when ever we are hyped up, we fall well below the expectations.

Re: Player Hating
Speaking of respect, the braintrust in Vegas is giving us a little. NY is currently a 2½ point favorite. As my fellow degenerate gamblers know, the home team is typically afforded 3 points, and that number is frequently higher in major market cities (New York will get 4 or more points, since more "idiot money" is bet on them... not that betting on New York makes someone an idiot, but the size of their fanbase makes for more idiots than a team with a smaller fanbase.). Either way, we look to be "beutral site favorites" in the eyes of the money men.

Re: Player Hating
I noticed that too BrudLee. That was nice for a change.

Re: Player Hating
All we have to do is keep winning and all these morons will start to toot the Redskin horn, claiming they have been on the bandwagon from the beginning. We'll get respect only by winning. Until then, expect more dissing.

Re: Player Hating
i really dont see what everyone is seeing in the giant offense.the only one that scares me on that team is tiki barber.the skins have done well against shockey, and p burress is very inconsistant

I would have given any of my starting QBs for Eli after two weeks of Fantasy FB! He was on fire! I picked M. Brunnell off of the waiver wire, and traded him him after the 1st week! Now, I regret that move! He is on fire, and hotter than Eli was the first two weeks! M. Vick has dropped me into a losing record! Oh, well! :dallas: :dallas: |
Re: Player Hating
The Giants have the 31st ranked defense. There is no way they can make through the whole season at that level.
Until we beat the Giants, and Eagles we're not gonna get any repect/recognition. |
Re: Player Hating
yeah the giants D is terrible. We should be able to light them up worse than the niners. I dont understand why they're so touted to be the big NFC East contender this year. They have by far the worst defense among the four teams.
|
Re: Player Hating
Just remember that even though they're defense is ranked 31st, they're still 4-2. That has to mean SUMFIN.
|
Re: Player Hating
Honestly, yeah, we are both 4-2.... so whatever, we will show them whats up on sunday, let our performances speak for ourselves, it might take wins over NY , PHI, and TB to make the cover of SI and ESPN magazine (if we win those 3 in a row, i promise you we will be on at least one of them).

Having about 4 home games out of 6 total games helps out quite a bit. |
Re: Player Hating
Eli's is 0-5 away from home in his career. While I don't expect that to continue forever, I would say it ain't a resume builder.

You are right. They'll also all start to change their tune about Coach Gibbs and start saying how great he is again. The same mo fo's that said the game passed him by last year. I just can't stand these flip flopping attitudes. Hypocrites!!! |
Re: Player Hating
our game plans look the same from coach gibbs first go round.mix in enough big plays with a decent ground game so you can control the time of possesion.this formula =winning football.i cant see the giants defense making any plays to get off the field,as long as strahan gets blocked because their secondary is horrible
|
Re: Player Hating
we've had a tougher schedule so far, so i'd give us the edge this week, but a couple turnovers could easily flip this one.
|
Re: Player Hating
The only reason the media loves the Giants is cause of Elisha getting the rub of being Peytons brother nobody whats to hear about how Brunell is blowing sh*t up but us. I don't care Peyton is good, Eli maybe good but I already dislike both cause anyone the media loves gets on my nerves by halftime with the announcers going down on them all game every game. Favres the same way I couldn't stand that "There's no defense for the perfect pass" crap Bill Maas was spouting all day, didn't exactly win him the game did it Bill? I'd rather the media stay away from us! That just my 2 cents worth!
|
Re: Player Hating
The media is so contradictory. They admit that Brunell is having a "Comeback Player of the Year" type season, and have no choice but to give S. Moss at least some of the respect he has earned, but when it comes to the Redskins as a team, they still tend to overlook us. A couple more wins, especially over good NFC teams (NYG, Philly, and/or TB) should show them, but who knows, they'll probably find some way to play it down anyway...

People make the argument that we keep beating bad teams, and not until we....(fill in teh blank)..then we havent proven anything. Well, they said we needed to beat the chiefs or broncos, we didnt beat either. Bottom line for me, winning in our division. We have been pathetic in divisional play for years. And regardless of our record, I want us to have a winning record in our division. If we win the next two games, Ill be a very very happy boy. |
