I am a high school student in South Carolina, and I get teased about being a redskins fan all the time. You see around where I live everyone is a stupid panthers fan and everytime I start to talk about the skins winning I get harrased. Then I just tell them about the glory days. I just wanted to know if anyone ever makes fun of you??

quite interesting, considering until the existance of the Panthers, the Carolinas were Redskins country.

Don't sweat it, and don't let it bother you. I'm constantly being teased for being a Skins fan, but that's mostly from my Uncle (a diehard Cowboys fan), or from my friends who usually jump from one bandwagon to another.

Ask them who they rooted for prior to the Panthers coming to town?

Are they Redskins fans who jumped off the bandwagon after the 90s or are they Falcons fans who never had a bandwagon TO jump off until this year?

hang in there kid.als,im old enough to have lived the glory days with the skins.the panthers shot their load 2 years in reaching the super bowl and now are headed in the other direction.where you have loads of tradition surrounding your redskins,what can anyone say about carolina except for the one trip to the super bowl.ill bet you people can name 5 starters on the redskins before they can on the panthers.keep your head held high and know that the skins will make it back to the big one before carolina will

I spent several years in Houston. That was kinda' rough with so many boy's fans around. On the bright side, there was no shortage of people to place a wager on the Skins/Cowboys game

If they were Eagle fans you could just point to the fact the Skins have won 3 SB's and with all their success latley they can't win the big game. You can point out we have played them 7 time in the past ten years and we have won 6 of those games. If they don't believe you just tell them to go to the Panthers web page its all there in black and white. So in reality if we have been that bad they have still been our little wipping boys. Ask the Panthers fans about the '30s, 40's, 50's, 60's, and 70's. No real history. Count the SB trophies the B&G have! Also count the NFL Championship from the early years! Ask "Is there a Panther's SB trophy?"

Where is the Famous Panther fight song? Can they cite the words?

Ask the older ones if they hit their head falling off of their previous bandwagon when the teal and black came to town!

man, highschool kids today are dumbass bandwagon whores. I am not joking I live in redskins country and i even get shit for being a redskins fan. Everyone knows that i am definately one of the biggest fans in the school and i will be walking down the hall and people just yelling shit about me not wearing my redskins stuff after a loss or stupid stuff like that, i usually laugh it off or come up with something about there stupid ass teams like the eagles or steelers(so many darn steeler fans--why!?!?!?!?) this week i tell eagles that they will lose and steelers get it for winning by one but it seems like everyone is a bandwagon whore. Even people who act like redskins fans are fair weather fans and when i get into a discusion with a eagle fan it doesn't help that some so-called redskins fan comes up and says something stupid and then says the redskins suck.
This year it is easier but last year was rediculous.

I live here in Dallas and I got my truck keyed, slashed tire, and once at Texas Staduim, i got punched when i said the 'boys suck, the puss ran off, but i still got punched, lol

All of that from being a skins fan, you really cant show your burgandy and gold here, its a shame, if you do, shit happens

i go to a skins fan club every sunday at a sports bar, and one guy has a big magnet skins logo, and he takes it off before he leaves the bar to go home. i wish i thought of that before i got keyed and then had to take off my redskin decal

Hey furrymayo I hear that. I too am a Redskins fan in high school, and i only know like 1 other person that roots for the skins. I don't get to see him often though. I know several dallas fans, several philly fans, one giant fan, a falcons fan, basically i know a lot of people that love the nfl, but not the redskins. I get teased about it all the time.

yea i'm a lifelong fan and i wouldn't trade it for the world
all the rich history,as im an admitted fossil...i've seen some great games..they are the funnist and most rich in personality,both daughters of mine were born on S.B.XXII AND S.B.XXV1..BOTH LIFELONG REDSKIN FANS!!as are the rest of the wheelers......kill philly................

I'm used to dumbasses on a daily basis seeing me in my coat or the stuff on my car and they start trying to talk trash. Most of the time I just look at them and yawn but some times I'll talk back making sure they understand how pathetic they r for trying to start something about my team. I've only had a couple people actually keep it up after saying something back, but most say something incrediblly intelligent and witty like "f-u" and "ur team suckx" and so on and so forth. it still amazes me the amount of cowpie and eagle fans that r in the state of virginia.

Was getting gas down the street a few days ago and the lady says, "I used to like you." I'm thinking well hmmm... Then she says," you disapoint me with that hat." And I'm like oh youre a cowboys fan huh? And she says yeah stupid ass Redskins. I mentioned,' the last game was a bummer for ya huh?'.... Shut her the F up. :food-smil

I had my cubile paper'd with photo's of the sports page after the game and the computer display changed to have something to do with the game (loss) on it.it's sad but you have to just shake it off like dog crap off your shoe.because in all truefulness that's all it is.just know you are not alone.

Hang in there kid. Be proud of routing for a team with real tradition. I live in St. Louis so I have to deal with all these fair weathered fans. St. Louisians are notorius for going with the flow. You have your core of Rams fans, pathetic, but every year there is new breed of Patriot, Broncos, Steelers, Packers, whatever is popular. I go to a sportsbar every weekend and the Redskins are unpopular and I get a lot of crap. I'm very vocal and I enjoy it. I especially like giving crap to the Lamb fans with their flag football team.

Chicago - Out here people are actually jealous of the way Snyder runs the team. Bears have historically cheap ownership and even though Snyder hasn't had the success we would have liked, they still wish they had him.

well fuzzynuts, I grew up in texas as a skins fan. I learned how to fight at a young age, and yes in Southeast Texas, a grown man will fight a 15 yr old boy for wearing a skins jersey. Panthers fans aren't that bad. Hell Eagles fans make dallas fans look tame, but the one thing I can tell you is just keep drinking milk.
