No way, is this really true? Did Christmas come early? All I can say is WOW. The Eagles are headed into a 3 game stint of all NFC east teams, so I am really surprised to hear that TO was suspended. On the other hand, the Eagles organization really does need to lay the smack down on Mr TO big for his britches. I really cannot believe that the Eagles have let it get this far.
Go Skins, and Bring the noise 12th man sunday night! :headbange

Re: 610WIP in Philadelphia reports...

I can only imagine how angry the Eagles organization got when T.O.'s "apology" included "It has been brought to my attention that I have offended the organization and my teammates."

As if he would otherwise never have known that anyone could be offended.

Not that it makes this Sunday a sure-win, but I'll take this kind of perk any game.

Guess we'll see some a lot of Westbrook, and I also heard that this means Mr Darnerian McCants might see some action as the #3 receiver.

He was out anyways because of his sprained ankle... this suspension only means that he won't get paid for being out.

I can't believe anyone can agrue that this guy is a good player to have on your team. I wouldn't care how many catches the guy is able to get, the downside is just too great.

He's a cancer. Like breast cancer really. As great a thing as a breast is, how beautiful or usefull it is, once it's developed cancer and could kill the rest of the body, sometimes you've got to just cut it off and go without it.

This makes me nervous actually. Galvanizing type deal. Hopefully it throws them for a loop but maybe not. I would guess McNabb will play now. He is a gamer and won't leave the team short if there's any chance he can play.

Re: T.O. Suspended!

If we can't beat them now with all this going on, then we don't deserve to be in contention for the division crown. This is the time when good teams put their foots on the necks of their opponents. Redskins need to go out, play crisp, smart and efficient football and put these punks in their place. If Philly wins, we HAVE no heart. Period.

Damn man, thats kind of a crappy statement to make. I certainly will never believe that no matter what happens.

Re: T.O. Suspended!

I dont know if i like him not playing this game. He is a great on-field player but:

1. We have been preparing for TO all week. Shawn Springs said on Redskins.com he would rather have TO play so he doesnt have to learn a new WR.

2. This might motivate the Eagles to play harder than they already would.

3. I want to see Sean Taylor make a punishing hit on him.

Re: T.O. Suspended!

TO being out is a great thing for the Skins not matter what way you look at it.

He's one of their best players and their biggest playmaker.

Taking him off the field is HUGE for the Skins.

Regardless of how his teammates respond, the Eagles coaching staff has prepared to play Owens all week. The decision to suspend him wasn't made until he half-assed his way through the "apology". Therefore, though our defense is at some disadvantage, their offense is at a greater one.

Re: T.O. Suspended!

SBF's Opinion: TO is Afraid.

Afraid of Sean Taylor again. ST smacked TO in the mouth play after play last time the "met" and with Lavar in there he knew it would be a LONG DAY.

The rest of their O is hurting so they would put the ball in his big mouthed hands this week and let him "eat". He saw the writing on the wall and would rather answer to a Coach he won't have next year than to ST and LA.

Wooosie.

I say the Skins should prepare like both MacNabb and TO will both be there and hit them with overwhelming force.

Go Skins!!!!!
peace
mike

Re: T.O. Suspended!

haha, good analysis SBF. This is good news for the Redskins, all we have to do is shut down their nonexistant running game and we should be good. But that's easier said than done with the Redskins 25th ranked rushing defense. I could foresee Brian Westbrook having a big day against us tomorrow.

TO out helps our chances incredibly. Reguardless of him being on the field the Redskins will still have to show up Sunday night! Can't wait til 830 pm tomorrow night!!!

Re: T.O. Suspended!

Some kids never learn. Rush Limbaugh belittled Donovan McNabb and resigned as a sports commentator. Owens does the same and gets suspended from a contract he wants out of anyhow.

This tilts the playing field slightly in the Redskins' favor. Without TO, the defense can take more risks (single coverage on the receivers) and be more agressive. I'm still expecting a contest. The Skins need to be 10 points ahead going into the fourth quarter. :biggthump

Him not on the field is certainly terrific for us, but by no means an automatic win for us. We still will have to step it up tommorow night.

Well said.

But if we do win, and that's still a big if, the pundits will put asterisks all over a Redskin victory because the Eagles didn't have Owens and (more than likely) McNabb.

To tell you the truth Owens or not the Redskins will have a up hill battle in the game sunday! Last week game against the Giants showed just how far this teams is away from the play-offs! With out most of our draft picks next year I see more hard times ahead. One of my biggest problems with this team is it's over rated O line. They could do nothing last week! Over payed and middle of the road or bottom of the league at best. We need to get back to our roots and use the draft. These past ten years show me we need people that know who and how to draft players. Its the front office that has been the big failure! It's hard to speck the truth and there is much more. :banghead: I love the Redskins and hate to see this year in and year out.

Tomorrow should give us a better, if not definite, idea of whether the loss to the Giants was just an aberration or a reflection of the true Redskins. I tend to think it's closer to the former.

As for the O line. 3/5ths of the starters were drafted by the Redskins (and it's not like Rabach and Thomas are slouches). So what do you mean by get back to our roots and use the drafat?

I just think saying that if the skins lose they have no heart is a crappy thing thing to say. The Redskins play with heart every time they walk onto the field. The attitude isnt needed.

In my opinion, the Redskins played with no heart last week. Whether the attitude is needed or not, it's here. Deal, or don't respond, champ.

Been traveling all weekend, 3 am so If I'm repating anything sorry. But this couldnt come at a better time for us. The Eagles are obviously distracted, and if we cant take this team, at home. Then we pretty much deserve any critisim that comes our way. I was very confident about this game before I found out about this, I'm even more confident now.

And I really hate the Eagles, but I cant applaud them enough for this. F.U.T.O. You should be absolutley ashamed by the way you act. I hope your sorry ass ends up with some CFL team. He's a talent so I know he'll wind up somewhere, but this guy is just not worth this crap.

Eagles | Owens had a Fight with Douglas
Sun, 6 Nov 2005 06:31:31 -0800

Mark Eckel, of the Trenton Times, reports Philadelphia Eagles WR Terrell Owens had a fistfight with former defensive end and current team ambassador Hugh Douglas. The fight occurred in front of several of his teammates. According to one of the sources the Owens-Douglas fight "was like WWE Smackdown." Another source said both men threw at least two punches during the altercation and when it was over Owens challenged QB Donovan McNabb first and then everyone else in the room saying, "You want some. Anyone else want some." The Eagles refused to comment about the situation, other than the statement that revealed Owens' suspension. Owens and Douglas have been at odds since training camp and almost got into an altercation in an elevator at Lehigh University.
