Peerless Price

Should we take a flyer on him? I mean I know we have a devastating WR corp but he did play for Gregg Williams in Buffalo. Not sure if he would make any impact this year but thinking about next year--get him on the roster and come to a full camp next year. Thoughts? |
Re: Peerless Price
uuhh yes...he can punt and kick return, he's fast, and he knows the cowboys offense
sign him |
Re: Peerless Price
I don't know if he really knows the cowboys offense. I thought one of the reasons he was inactive for so many games was that he couldn't figure out the offense.
I'd pass on him. |

Re: Peerless Price
I feel for the guy. He actually had like fifty money bags dropped on his head a few years ago. I think he is still trying to count up all his stupid money. Peerless is one of those very dangerous type players. NFL mirage. Atlanta gave up a first rounder for that garbage. Yikes.

Re: Peerless Price
How does a guy fall this far? I mean this guy had 94 catches for 1252 yards and nine TDs just 3 years ago! That can't be a total fluke. He has to have SOME talent to pull off a season like that. Anyone heard why he has such problems now? I mean clearly he can't handle beign a no. 1 guy but he exceld big time as a 2. There has to be a spot for him somewhere.
|
Re: Peerless Price
why not ?he is already better than taylor jacobs and what could it hurt?using brown at wide out scares me
|
Re: Peerless Price
moss and price combo
will surely boost our deep vertical game these thwo are speed demons |

He couldn't even handle being no. 3 in Dallas. I think he benefitted greatly from having a big guy like Eric Moulds line up at the other side of the field. Moulds, incidentally, is rumored to be on his way out of Buffalo this offseason. I'd make a push for him |
Re: Peerless Price
I say try him out. Something tells me he'll play for vet minimum for the rest of the season and he'd love to have a chance against the Cowboys this season! I'll bet Skins have already thought about this...
|
Re: Peerless Price
I trust the coaches to make a good decision to see if he'll fit in or not.....we are hurting at reciever.

Trust me, Eric Moulds is way past his good playing days. I have to watch the stupid Bills all the time, and Moulds is no where near the player he used to be. Lee Evans is really carrying (if you could call it that) the reciving corps up in Buffalo. |
Re: Peerless Price
I thought the fun and gun coach made a run for this guy already for us..But we got coles you know how that went pass....
|
Re: Peerless Price
If we wanted talent at that level, we would have kept Kevin Dyson, or Rod Gardner.
|
Re: Peerless Price
I want him

Ok. I've wondered if Moulds is really slipping or has he been a victim of the rest of the team's struggles lately. Certainly he's past his prime, but he could be a big possession receiver for us. |

That could be the case. I mean if he was brought in here cheap, I wouldnt really speak out against the move or anything. However, he really has slipped alot over the last year and a half, not just because of the rest of the team. |
Re: Peerless Price
I would grab Price if he wants a one year deal for the veteran minimum. Moulds is a little old for my taste.
|
Re: Peerless Price
I say just sign him (price) for the rest of the year and if he looks promising, keep him.
|
Re: Peerless Price
we would lose nothing with price returning punts instead of brown..
besides, if he caught 92 passes in one year for buffalo that is more than the entire redskin receiving corps lifetime stats except for moss and patten.. at vet minimum he is a no lose pickup as long as his head is screwed on right. |
Re: Peerless Price
his head may not be screwed on right :( he called out vick (saying his stats sucked cause the qb couldn't get him the ball, which may be true, but still. and i don't know if he said anything about the situation in dallas (not enough opportunities? bad qb play?), but he didn't get cut for being too good.
still, he's fast (16ypc avg), he can do returns, and he's had some good games not that long ago. at vet min he couldn't be bad pickup... worst case you just dump him again. |
Re: Peerless Price
it would kill us to pick him up.......
|
Re: Peerless Price
Dare I say another Albert Connell?
|
Re: Peerless Price
al conell was a productive member of the skins in the time he spent here
|
Re: Peerless Price
I would sign him just until the end of this season, why not its worth a shot... Plus maybe he can help us get a leg up on dallas
|

Thats what I think we should do....sign him, get an insight on Dallas and see how he does the rest of the year. |

This is the best reason to get him but if he was having trouble picking up the system then he probably isn't much help. |
Re: Peerless Price
what ever he does know is better than what we got, which is zero
|
Re: Peerless Price
Give him a shot-- he is probably better than Jacobs, Farris, or Brown, even if he
learns 2 routes. |
Re: Peerless Price
Why not,
|
Re: Peerless Price
What can it hurt to bring him in for ther vet min for a week or two and see how it goes?
|
Re: Peerless Price
Too late in the season to even bother.
By the time he gets up to speed with things the season will be over. |
Re: Peerless Price
not too late if we're going for a wildcard playoff push Matty
|
Re: Peerless Price
[QUOTE=Mattyk72]Too late in the season to even bother.

Re: Peerless Price
Sign him!!!
|
Re: Peerless Price
Is it just me, or did Jacobs look positively lost yesterday? Also, what was Brown thinking fielding that punt inside the 5?
Pierce has better hands than Jacobs, and probably knows enough to let a punt inside the 5 go into the endzone. At worst, we're just a little bit better in both positions, even if he can't learn a thing about the offense. At best, he produces. I don't think it's too late in the season, given what we have at WR and special teams. |
Re: Peerless Price
Unfortunately, I heard that Jacobs hurt his ankle from WTEM. Looks like we might be getting Price by default.
|
Re: Peerless Price
I think he is one of those players who got that hugh pay day and has just let things go sense then (no incentive to play hard). He did have one catch against us for minus 1 yard so why not give him a chance. LOL

I heard it was minor. Of course, with TJ who knows |
