Defensive line
I tell you what i can't remember the last time our defensive line played like that and we need to carry that over into next week and pressure Eli the same way.
I know the Giants Offensive may be a little better then the Cowgirls but i think we can put the same amount of pressure on. |

They're going to shut down Tiki Barber. I'm calling it, Tiki runs for less than 80 yards this time around. |

Yes, you know other than Randy Thomas, we are getting healthy at the right time. I hear that Arrington and Thrash may be back Saturday as well. |

The problem is, Tiki very rarely hurts the Skins by running up the gut. Where he kills them is on the edge plays. Hopefully, they're game planning to keep him contained. And I agree that Griffin being healthy is a tremendous boost for the defensive line and the unit as a whole, but imagine how dominent they could be with him and a decent pass rushing defensive end(which they still need). |
Re: Defensive line
I also truly doubt that Tiki runs wild this game. With the push of Griffin and Salave'a up the middle, he's going to have a hard time gaining momentum around the edge.

Re: Defensive line
No way Tiki runs wild this time around. No way.

Re: Defensive line
control tiki=redskins victory.its that simple.if our d plays anywhere near the level they played against the cowboys, victory is ours.come on 12th man,do your part

Re: Defensive line
We held Tiki to 88yards on 33carries combined for both meetings last year. So GW knows how to game plan for him.

Re: Defensive line
Our line was banged up in the first meeting and the Giants exploited it big time.
Ain't gonna happen this time. It's payback time, bitches. |

That's right, it's all up to you. You're the goat if things don't work out this weekend! :) |
Re: Defensive line
Our O-line will have to step up as well, but the D-line play handling Tiki is the key.

Re: Defensive line
I was playing cards last night and a couple of big giant fans showed up, as usual I had my skins gear on, as soon as they sat down they started in, Pierce this and Tiki that, I let them know that Pierce wasen't going to do much in street clothes, and Griffen was going to make sure that Tiki is going to have a problem this week running on our right side, of coarse they asked Griffen who? So I had to explain to them C. Griffen the X-Giant, and then told them they must be real hard core Giant fans, which went in one ear and out the other, these 2 were higher than a kite, fortunatly there were actually a couple of guys at the table who just happen to be skins fans, a rare occurance in jersey, so we had some fun with it, I took all their money, and on saturday we will all live happily ever after. :biggthump
I have been almost perfect all year betting the skins nailing the point spreads and the over unders, when I got home last night I watched the first half of the cowboys game again, and I was just becoming more and more confident that the Giants are in for a rude awakening come saturday. This game isn't going to be nearly as easy as the cowboy game, and I am concerned about Ray Brown in there, watching the game again last night Thomas was really getting out on those sweeps and leveling people, don't know if Brown can equal that, I know he's a nice guy and Gibbs loves him but that is a concern this week. With that said I feel we will cover the spread, and leaning towards the under hear. |

I would agree - the one thing we have going for us is that both of their starting tackles are injured and listed as Questionable, which might making running to the outside more difficult. The Giants depth chart only has one backup tackle listed (and he's only started 1 game this season), so if both T are out for the game I'd imagine they'll be doing some serious shuffling or signing guys from the practice squad or something. Two replacement tackles would make for some pretty vulnerable ends there. Hopefully another big day for Phillip Daniels! Giants Depth Chart |

And Tiki ran for 206 yards on us last time, so clearly they know how to gameplan for GW. Not trying to be pessimistic, hell I'm as excited as anyone could possibly be for this game - I just think Tiki is awfully hard to contain this year. |
Re: Defensive line
I think the Giants are going to come out throwing the ball. It is very clear that we are going to try and stop the run. I could see some reverse, flea flicking action from the GMen of our key on the run. Hopefully we can contain and run the ball ourselves. This game will be a dogfight for 4 quarters. I will be in an airplane just dying to know what is happening.

Re: Defensive line
We have to over-compensate for Tiki. Be ready to sell out on him and make the sophomore QB beat us. I think Manning can be good but he has shown some downside lately and we have to hope he continues that this weekend. A nice kill shot from Taylor on Barber early on like #53's hit on Witten would be nice. Nothing serious just enough to get their backup playing the first half.

Re: Defensive line
I missed the last Giants game, but from what I have read Tiki had great success running to the weak side of the formation. They ran away from the the TE and LB Washington one of our strongest LB's.
I read that Warrick Holdman was run over, he had a terrible day. Some of our other LB's failed to show up. I think Lavar is going to have to be inserted as the weakside LB on 1st down and obvious running situations. It is time for Lavar to earn his money and stuff Tiki in the backfield. |
