Sally Strikes Again

Its shocking...she's done it again! So far I count several negative Skins articles (ie the "Clean off your burgundy colored glasses" masterpiece) and now TWO pro-Giants articles ("Pierce is the man (even though now he has a boo-boo)" and now "Coughlin produces winners"???). I really hate to belabor the point, being that she is the Warpath's arch enemy and we have all said this a hundred times, but why is she writing for the Post again? Is this what I need to wake up to see? Give me more Tony K! |
Re: Sally Strikes Again
I can't help to believe that she is really trying to send a very personal message to Washington Redskins' fans by writing about our opponent on, what is almost, the eve of our biggest game in about ten years or so.
|
Re: Sally Strikes Again
Does she write for the Washington Post or the NY Post?
Right before our biggest game in years and she's crowing about the opposition. Typical Jenkins garbage. |
Re: Sally Strikes Again
Yet another reason to ignore the Post. Now that I can get Mutts comics by e-mail, I have very little use for that rag...
|
Re: Sally Strikes Again
What is the email again? It's time to send her a message. I'd LOVE to know why she writes for the Post yet writes a Pro-NY article...
|
Re: Sally Strikes Again
The nicest thing I can say abour her is that she is a bitch. The worst thing I can say is... well unprintable.

I was gonna ask the same exact thing. I've tried to write to sally.jenkins@washingtonpost.com but it didn't work? Please someone give me a good address. |
Re: Sally Strikes Again
Forget about emailing her, she's probably eating this crap up. I think she loves to ruffle our feathers.
I shot an email to Kornheiser this morning with the subject: Your girl Sally "Skins hater" Jenkins.
Hey Tony, what’s up with your girl Sally Jenkins? The week of the Redskins’ biggest game in years and she busts out an article where she’s crowing about the enemy! Does she work for the NY Post or the Washington Post? I can’t believe the WP keeps her on the payroll. It’s amazing that she has nothing to say when the Redskins win, but after a loss she rips everyone in the entire organization. What a hypocrite!!
|
Re: Sally Strikes Again
okay, what's Tony's email address?
|
Re: Sally Strikes Again
She's a mess
|
Re: Sally Strikes Again
If you do email her, be respectful. I know we do a lot of venting here, but you will get much farther with the reasoned argument than with the pejorative insult.

Re: Sally Strikes Again
Here's what I sent her.
Sally, For the life of me, I can't understand why you haven't written about the Redskins in the past 3 or 4 weeks, yet in today's WP you have so conveniently, probably from your New York office, decided to crow about the NY Giants, the Redskins' opponent this weekend. Now I'm sure you will absolutey deny having anything personal against the Redskins and their fans because, after all, you are a journalist. And I'm sure you want to mention, like one of your articles stated, wrongly I might add, that the Redskins have played the fifth weakest schedule in the NFL this year. But if you must write articles about the home team at least include a few during their winning streak. Your credibilty is being seriously undermined and questioned amongst the fan base in this area. If you must continue to write for the Post, perhaps it should be for the New York Post instead. P.s. I'm really starting to enjoy these burgundy colored glasses! |

If you want to send emails they should go to the post and not her. I would also wait to send her emails until after we defeat the G.

Are you suggesting that it is more effective to send them to the editors, or that it is inappropriate to send them to her personnally? Just clarifying. |

I live in the Va beach area and our local paper does a good job of covering the skins. They give the good and th bad.

That's a good point. No harm in giving her a shot to respond and then forwarding the whole string to the editors, I guess. |
Re: Sally Strikes Again
Dear Redskinettes,
I would like to respond to the quesions about my "effectiveness" as a writer as follows: 1) Each of you waits on eggshells every week to read my article - so I must be doing something right. 2) My writing always sparks extensive discussion - so I must be doing something right. 3) Everyone in NY agrees with my assessment - so I must be doing something right. Yeah, I would prefer to write for a NY newspaper instead of the Washington Post, but apparently they have stricter guideliness regarding "quality." So, I'll continue to entertain my DC fans from NY. Happy Christikwansikkah! Sally J. |

Re: Sally Strikes Again
Ok - maybe I'm just writing about the Giants to get the Skins all fired up for the game this weekend. You know - bulletin board material. I mean, take a look at some of this classic motivational stuff:
> "But Coughlin has joined a more important list this season, and that's the list of the best coaches in the NFL." (Good one, right!?) > "He's schooled a young quarterback in Eli Manning, who has barely played a full season, into a major factor" (Oh yeah - Eli scares the bejesus out of you, doesn't he?!) > "and toughened the formerly fumble-prone Tiki Barber into a contender for the league's most valuable player." (Cause everyone knows that Tiki sucked it up before Coughlin...) > "Coughlin's insistence on dress codes and sitting up straight seems petty at first -- until it starts to pay off." (I think it's pretty clear that the Giants are winning directly because of the dress code and sitting up straight during meetings...) There you go - ok? Cut me a break already - Go Giants! (OOPS!) XOXO, Sally J. |
Re: Sally Strikes Again
Good posture is directly correlating to winning football teams. Belie' dat.

From now on, I'm going to write all of my columns sitting up straight in a business suit. You can expect much better articles in the future as a direct result. |
Re: Sally Strikes Again
Granted I do believe Sally has a grudge or what ever against Danny, that probably comes from being jelous about his riches at such a young age. However, I dont see what the big deal is about writing about another team. Wilbon does it. He isn't even a redskin fan, but he seems to get the benfit of the doubt. I dont generally care for Sallys articles either, never read them actually unless someone here puts them on the threads. In the latest article she didn't have anything negative to say about the skins, which is a first. I would take it as a compliment that she isn't doing any bashing this week. She gets paid alot of money to piss people off, which she obvioulsy is very good at.

I think it's the timing and nature of her pieces that piss people off. She only writes after Skins losses, and only writes negative stuff. Wilbon writes after wins and losses, and a lot of his articles are positive (when there is something positive to write about). Nobody is asking her to be disingenuous - just consistent. You can't, as a "journalist" only write columns to bash a team when there are positives to be written about. It's just shoddy work. The part about her writing about other teams is only an issue because she is not doing her job covering her "home" team. If she were (as Wilbon does), nobody would care. |

She isn't bashing this week cause its kinda hard to bash a team that just beat thier rivals 35-7.. The reason people are pissed is not b/c she wrote about the GMEN but that only writes about the Skins after they loose. She went out bounds when she bashed the skins fans in her last article now she's gonna have to eat a little crow. |

To all who wrote to Sally and Tony--well done. You speak for those of us who are voiceless (or too lazy to click on the link ;) ).
Seriously, can we trade Sally for some NY writer who hates NY and lives in DC? Straight up? What a joke. And I thought she wasn't going to find a way to piss us off this week... |

Re: Sally Strikes Again
**** YOU SALLY JENKINS
Someone send her a ****ing link to this thread and all the other ones about her. Dumb bitch. I would write the post but that won't do anything, they like the attention she gets. **** them i am not gonna read their shit if they continue with this asswipe " that freezing stare behind those steel rims. He's got his Giants team jacket on and it's zipped straight up to his stiff neck. Meanwhile, I'm shivering." just reading that you know she is pleasuring herself to coughlin's picture and that is sad. Stupid Bitch. Work for a NY news paper. |
Re: Sally Strikes Again
I feel so much better after sending her that email.
Now, I really don't care. As long as she knows how we feel. That's what is important to me. |
Re: Sally Strikes Again
Here is a link to a previous thread in which she denies writing maliciously against the Skins.
http://www.thewarpath.net/showthread.php?t=8724&page=3&pp=10&highlight=Sally If anyone does email her again, her own words should be used against her. In summary she said... 1. She was out of town and thats why she didn't write on previous Redskins wins. 2. She dislikes the Skins front office. Believes they are in disarray. 3. Says it's more fun to write about the Skins when they win. So, 1. Were you out of town again or did the dog eat your articles the last three weeks? 2. If Gibbs is correcting the front office, isn't that a better article than one on how Coughlin is making the Giants better on a Giants-Redskins week matchup (remember you are writing for the WASHINGTON post). 3. The Skins are winning. No article... Are you against having fun? On second thought, I'm going to email her... |
Re: Sally Strikes Again
Article sounds like she in love with Coughlin. Uh oh, cheating on Len Pastabelli
