What to do with Lavar
I think since they cant figure out what to do with Lavar, just put him at d-end. I wouldnt want to see him in another uniform esecially not a green jersey with pretty little wings on it. since we always send players there. He probably fits the system better as a d-end. Just somethin that came to me while I was on the potty:Flush: .:hitfan:

Agree to much talent to just throw away.

Re: What to do with Lavar
Well only one problem, the money. He is asking for alottt of money, too much for that position, he also is a high profile player, which equals ego. Now im not saying that an ego is a bad thing, but it comes with a high profile player. He is gonna want to play LB, because that is HIS position, and he wants to be the franchise player. So I do not think its a great idea.

I think they should put him out there on third downs at DE when the other team has to pass...he's normally not out there at all in those situations, so just put him in there instead of wynn |
Re: What to do with Lavar
I say we just use him like a tool. He doesnt want to be here, some here may not want him to stay, but because cutting him would be a huge cap loss, just play him where Gibbs sees fit. I dont care if we have him kicking extra points, just make him work for his money.

But lets keep Wynn at that position, and trade LaVar, and get someone else. He still costs ALOT, but do not cut him. |
Re: What to do with Lavar
But you all have to admit a healthy happy Lavar is dangerous for the other team. Maybe a RING will make him change his tune a lil bit. Lets hope it does.

I would defiently put him in charge of the gatorade. we have to get some value out of him. :party-smi

Re: What to do with Lavar
get another miami university standout for him such as Philip Buchanon, or a draft pick from miami
this will keep moss, taylor, and portis in company |
Re: What to do with Lavar
I think LaVar will do whatever he can to stay here. It may be too late, but aside from his clearly poorly timed interview with the Times, he's been a perfect teammate. He's supportive on the sidelines, he's putting forth effort when he plays, and he clearly loves the team.

Re: What to do with Lavar
The "problem" with LaVar is this:
He will be the highest paid player on the team next year and may consume the largest fraction of the team's salary cap. [I defer to Crazy Canuck on both of those points.] At the same time, he doesn't play nearly half the downs on defense. You might be able to put together a successful team some of the time under those circumstances, but it doesn't seem to be a formula guaranteed to bring success. Ergo... |
Re: What to do with Lavar
I just don't think he is in Washinton's plans. I think washington is capable of having a top 10 defense without Lavar. They did it last year, and they are kind of doign it this year.

Re: What to do with Lavar
well i say today you get him mad and then he go beat the shit out of simms.

Re: What to do with Lavar
Lavar is a great player. He has been ratteld by injury and confidence. Lets be a team that doesnt run away from our talent potential. One more year with lavar i think he is still a great player. No one can turn the corners and chase after backs like he can.

Re: What to do with Lavar
I'd go to war with Lavar any day. With his abilities, the team just needs to find a position where he can make plays and let him go at it.
Now, that said, his cost against the cap is going to be tremendous next year. The front office needs to find a way to renegotiate his contract such that he is paid as well as any other team would pay him and still fit within the cap structure. |
