thought this was kind of interesting.

eagles, seahawks and jaguars are in the best shape (talent/dollar).
titans, raiders, lions, texans, and ravens are in the worst shape (talent/dollar).

What looks interesting here is what is going to happen to those teams in the top 10 of the draft and in the bottom 10 in terms of cap space:

Texans #1/4.7;Titans #3/.5;Raiders #7/1.4; Lions #9 /3.3;

All those teams have major holes to fill and are going to have to make some moves to open up cap in order to get draft picks signed.

Can't blame Brett Favre for taking his time to make his decision.

Green Bay has the most money and still they couldn't go out and get some quality players to surround Brett Favre with?

As much as people hate us for the way we do business, at least our owner is going out and doing whatever it takes to put a winning team on the field.

i think its funny that eagle fans will get on the skins for spending money and every year they are a qzillion dollars under the cap.why not spend some of that and get some depth so when some of your starters get injured,you dont fall apart and your season is trashed?

You've got to appreciate an owner like Snyder. Unlike most owners he doesn't try to keep his player salaries' to a minimum to add to his profit. I'd say about 40% of the owners in the NFL use this strategy, they're not interest in winning, but rather money.
This is why the Wizards piss me off, because unlike in the NFL you could pretty much buy a championship in the NBA, but they refuse to bring in that missing link to get them through the playoffs. Their best player (Arenas) isn't even their highest paid.

The rookie cap is a cap within a cap. It is the maximum a team can pay rookies -- but it is not in addition to the cap, it is within the cap. Each team's rookie cap is different and based on the number of draft picks and draft position.

The Texans with $4.7 is morer than enough to sign their draft picks.
The Raiders will be a tight squeeze, they may need to re-do some contracts..

the titans have mcnair eating 23$mill in space right now. If he gets traded, restructures or is released, they'll have TONS of money... which is why the ravens are just waiting for mcnair to come free right now. also if favre retires, the packers will have over $25mill in cap space.... yikes.

It will be interesting. The rookie pool number will most likely exceed those available cap numbers -- especially for the Texans who will have the largest rookie pool number.

If they sit on their cap money and have a poor season they loose money in ticket, food, beer, parking sales etc... I just don't realy understand when a team has a need for players that they do not go after them in free agency. I realize that alot like to grow through the draft but if the guy is there as a FA then go for it.
