George Foreman Grill
Does anyone have one of these? I've heard nothing but great things about them, and I'm thinking of purchasing one.
Just wondering what any of you who own one think and also trying to get a little first-hand info on all the different types. |
Re: George Foreman Grill
I have one. It's pretty good except for the fact that you have to clean the damn thing yourself. A self-cleaning feature where I cook on the bastard and it cleans itself would have been nice.
p.s. George Foreman sold the rights to the Grill for 250 million dollars. Now that's an endorsement deal! |
Re: George Foreman Grill
i've used them a bunch and i have a lot of cheap friends that own them ;)
great for the price, and much easier to work with than an actual full scale grill. part of why they're so popullar is they do exactly what they say they do and they're SUPER cheap. cleaning is a bit of a pain, but that's true for most grease pans. |

Re: George Foreman Grill
most of my experience is with the 20$ one.

Re: George Foreman Grill
They are good I use mine alot, for things like bergers, chicken, sandwiches, and quesideas(SP). But dont expect to get a good steak off of one that has ben my experience...
For the price and what you can cook, esp. if you are into fast and quick when cooking, they are worth it... |
Re: George Foreman Grill
like said before, they are worth it but a pain in the ass to clean.the new one i got ,the trays slide out and i just pop it into the dishwasher
|
Re: George Foreman Grill
I love mine. It makes the best grilled cheese in the world! Everyone here is right about the cleaning thing though.
|
Re: George Foreman Grill
I was given one last year and I absolutely hate it. It makes the worst burgers ever.
|
Re: George Foreman Grill
My roommate fancied himself a geat Foreman grill chef. He used to make porkchops and stuff all the time on it.
I pretty much only used it when I was drunk for quick grilled cheese or frozen hamburgers. Not bad for a quick meal. |
Re: George Foreman Grill
Get one with the removable plates, otherwise it's a huge pain to clean. With the removable plates you can just take them off, give them a wipe and toss them in the dishwasher.
I use mine more in the winter when I can't get outside to grill. |

I agree with Navy, they definitely make fantastic grilled cheese sandwiches! |
Re: George Foreman Grill
just don't forget to take the wrapper off the cheese first. My grandmother accidently did that once when I was a kid and now I have always feel the need to check before I take a bite.

Re: George Foreman Grill
I have this one...
it works great. has temperature control, and removeable plates. burgers, dogs, marinated chicken breasts, shrimp, veggies. I don't do steaks on them because the fat is where a steak gets all its flavor, and the whole point of the Foreman is to "knock out the fat". never tried grilled cheese...i have a nice double burner griddle that I use instead, but i may have to give it a try. |
