my computer is stuck in an infinate loop
Help computer techies, my pc told me today that it was stuck in an infinate loop. Something to do with my "nv4.???" driver. I cant remember the last three digits. Anyhow can this be fixed by totaly rebooting my pc, by puting in my system restore disk?

Re: my computer is stuck in an infinate loop
rebooting should fix it, at least for a while.

Re: my computer is stuck in an infinate loop
Don't do restore yet. As a test, boot into safe mode (do this by restarting and before windows comes up, keep tapping F8). Go into your device manager and remove your graphics driver, reboot and see if you have an infinite loop then. If you don't, you do need to upgrade your graphics driver.

Actually according to the link that FRPLG posted, it seemed like an easy fix. Just click on this:
http://www.synapse.gr/downloads/nv4loopfix.zip And install the patch and it seems you'll be good to go. |

We all can't be perfect, and I called Dell today, I guess that it is my graphics card and they are going to replace it for me by sending a tech out to my house. It appears that when I bought my pc that I bought a 4 year warrenty for hardware issues and therefor it wont cost me a dime.
