Redskins vs. Cowboys - 2006 Predictions
So I was reading an article on Terell Owens' first practices as a Cowboy and it got me thinking - how does everyone think we'll do against Dallas this year?
Obviously we swept them last year, and the 35-7 route goes down in history as one of my all-time favorite sports moments that brings tears to me eyes. But how improved are they this season (if at all)? Do we sweep again? Split? (God forbid) get swept ourselves? I'm honestly not sure what I think - TO is the big, obvious difference over last year, but I don't recall our D struggling with him that much when he was an Eagle. Didn't we limit him to 3-4 catches for 30 or so yards on several occasions? Maybe I have selective memory, but I don't recall getting scorched by him much in the past. |
Re: Redskins vs. Cowboys - 2006 Predictions
I think T.O. is already scared of ST. And if he's not, then he will be once we play each other. I think T.O. is soft, and he won't perform well when he is worrying about ST.

I was thinking the same thing. Springs has defended him well in the past. TO will get his scores eventually. What we don't want is for him to have a career day at our expense. If we can limit him to <100 yards and 1 score at each meeting, I feel we have been successful and have a good chance to win the game. |
Re: Redskins vs. Cowboys - 2006 Predictions
somebody look up owens' #'s against the skins you will find they are not much

Re: Redskins vs. Cowboys - 2006 Predictions
TO (vs WAS, 2004)
2 for 24 and a TD 6 for 46 randy moss 5 for 66 and a TD (2004 viking) 3 for 40 (2005 raider) - collins messed up, randy could have had a 60yard TD catch, but the pass was weak armed and he had to fall back into the coverage he had easily beaten to try and get it. ST also has a habit of punching TO and shoving him out of bounds often, which owens clearly doesn't like it, and that's a good thing. |
Re: Redskins vs. Cowboys - 2006 Predictions
^^^ lets add the fumble to the stats just for kicks.

Re: Redskins vs. Cowboys - 2006 Predictions
You have to think that between Taylor and Arch that T.O. will get hit early and often when they meet him in week 2. I would not even mind a late hit early if it gets T.O. to thinking "Where is Sean?" Terry Glenn was just running around scared in that 2nd meeting in December. I am not guarranting anything, but I think we will give the Cowboys all they want.

Of course we sweep again, however the first encounter will be much like the last one from 05. The second encounter might be closer, but the outcome will be decided by the 3rd Quarter. TO will have had his falling out with man-breasts before our second encounter, so he will be a total non-factor in that game, and you already know how the first game will go. The mediots are enamored with TO, not because he is a playmaker, but a headline maker! Ignore the mediots! |
Re: Redskins vs. Cowboys - 2006 Predictions
I think Jason Witten will have a more productive year. Julius Jones is a ? because of the newly built o-line. I dont see their o-line coming out and dominating right away..... building an o-line takes time..... just look at the skins o-line they have come a long way. Dallas is still a couple years away from doing much and it all starts with the o-line and they are now just starting to rebuild it.

Re: Redskins vs. Cowboys - 2006 Predictions
I just hope Taylor will be allowed to play in the first game in order to instill the fear in TO that he has in the past.

He will go over the middle and take a hit and he did show 2 years back that injury or not he will play "SB that year". I don't know if hes scared of Taylor but I think he respects how hard Taylor will tag you. We have kept him in check the past couple of years which tells me Williams does a good job of game planning for him and thats all we need to do.

Re: Redskins vs. Cowboys - 2006 Predictions
well the thing with the last meeting vs Owens is that when he played with the eagles you only had to focus on owens because no one else could catch the ball.... here if your team puts a lot of attention to owens it frees Witten, Glenn and fasano and I'm not countign that it will take people out of the boxs giving space for JJ to run... there are 2 many wepons in this team and if Owens recuries more than single coverage it will open the hole offense.
