What was the review about on Moss's OT TD?
I had to put my son to bed right after Moss scored, but when I got back downstairs the ref was saying that the call on the field stood. What was the review about? Thanks!

I think it was just to look it over to make sure that there wasn't something obvious to overturn.

Re: What was the review about on Moss's OT TD?
They thought Moss had stepped out of bounce before he had caught the football....

Re: What was the review about on Moss's OT TD?
They checked he didn't go OOB before the catch. Not even close!
TBH I've always thought that rule stank. OK if a player runs OOB under his own steam, but if he is pushed out? You can be pushed OOB while making a catch, but you can't be pushed OOB before the catch? |
Re: What was the review about on Moss's OT TD?
they were checking if he was out of bounds

Re: What was the review about on Moss's OT TD?
The rule does suck. If Moss had gone out of bounds, it would've been becuase the guy pushed him out. They should get rid of that rule. Even if Moss had been pushed out of bounds, and came back in and caught the pass, it would've been called back because of it. Thank goodness Moss didn't step out of bounds.

I thought the call on Cooley stepping out was very very close....

Re: What was the review about on Moss's OT TD?
They had to verify that he was THAT bad ass and hardcore. The refs think he used time travel to morph through 2 defenders but their technology cant process that info, not for another century.

Peter King asked for the review!

Seems the refs have blown a few on us already, only to come back and not call the same damn thing on the opponent. It's getting old.

Re: What was the review about on Moss's OT TD?
Isn't the exception to the rule if you get pushed out of bounds and then re-establish your self in play you can still catch the ball. if im not mistaken didn't that happen to us or against us this year?

Re: What was the review about on Moss's OT TD?
to remind Al Saunders how much of a playmaker Santana is.

You are right. You can re-establish if, in the opinion of the official, you are forced out and you IMMEDIATELY try to get back on the field. This happens a lot to the gunners on punt coverage. You could make the case for Cooley being forced out, but judgements are not reviewable. Whatever the official on the field decides initially in regards to a force-out is immune from overturn. The same is true for a force-out on a catch. Santana was bumped out in an earler game, maybe Minnesota but I can't remember. In that case he was ruled elligible to make a catch. The call went against us at home vs. Dallas last year (again Santana). |
