What the hell does this mean??
"Mark is three games away from setting a record in the NFL," Gibbs said, referring to the Week 3 game at Houston when Brunell completed 22 consecutive passes in a row to establish a new league mark.
A friend e-mailed this to me. I dont know where he got it from. Is Gibbs letting the Skins go STRAIGHT to hell so his precious ass qb can get some kind of record? |
Re: What the hell does this mean??
Huh?
All he's saying is he's 3 games removed from setting a record. |
Re: What the hell does this mean??
If he keeps it up he'll set a record for being booed by the most fans at once.

Re: What the hell does this mean??
do you have a link?
|
Re: What the hell does this mean??
sorry no link....I got it in an e-mail and the dope didnt send me a link either. I have no Idea where it came from. Probably shouldnt have posted it but.......Maybe it does mean 3 games removed but sure sounds like Gibbs is wanting his qb to get something at the skins expense,

You don't really think Gibbs would operate like that, let's be serious. He means that Brunell just set a record three games ago for 22 consecutive completions. I don't care what quarterback you have in there, the way the TEAM is playing, we would still be in the same boat. |

So your making that statement from something that you do not even know where it comes from, what context it could have been made in, or if he even said that? |

Gibbs' loyalty is to his integrity not to Mark Brunell career aspirations. |

Your 100% correct and I wounder why someone would even be a fan of a team if he thought that. |
Re: What the hell does this mean??
Ive been a skins fan since I knew what a football was. Never pulled for another team and never will but dammit. 1 maybe 2 deep balls a game. screen after screen after screen after screen. Throwing it away. SO sick and tired of gibbs saying we fought our guts out. Look at other coaches on the sidelines. Their expressions, their passion, their stomping ,yelling, pacing chewing players asses out. Gibbs may shake his head once a quarter. Just like the rest of us Im fed up and want answers

The quote specifically says "referring to the Week 3 game at Houston when Brunell completed 22 consecutive passes in a row to establish a new league mark." There's no maybe about it. What irks me is Gibbs is using that as validation to keep Brunell as the starter. Why doesn't he respond to the 67.0 average passer rating Brunell has in the four losses? |

I'm pretty sure he said it in some presser. Not sure which one or where it is, but my cousin called me up saying the same thing. |

What really concerns me is that the only other coach in the league that resembles Gibbs in terms of body language (this season) is ART SHELL! Both of them just sort of stand around and seem almost disinterested in the game, they rarely get all fired up during the game, and they have similarly delusional sounding press conferences. I'd really like to see some hidden camera footage of Gibbs in the locker room this year, because if he seems as disinterested and unpassionate there as he seems on the sidelines maybe I can also stop getting so worked up over the games. I feel like Gibbs and Brunell are the only ones not super pissed over this last loss (at least they aren't showing it) and that just sucks |
Re: What the hell does this mean??
"Jason has worked extremely hard, we have alot invested in him...he'll be the future... his situation hasn't changed....I understand the frustration, they all understand it....I think we've all talked about the things that go into the QB change... to go through the whole list again... I think its certainly Mark in this game... He's 3 games away from setting a record up here in the NFL... I'm not afraid to change anything, I don't think I'd heisitate to change anything... When it comes to Mark I think changing him isn't the right decision"
Not verbatim, but pretty close. |
