Troy Vincent Released

Well not much news but I heard that the REDSKINS released him today on SIRIUS NFL RADIO 2 minute update. How much did this save us?

as far as I'm concerned, a ton. other then the blocked kick, Vincent was horrible( just like the rest of our defense)

Re: Troy Vincent Released

Looks like he saved us around one and a half million. We didn't give up much, but darn that block against the COWGIRLS was PRICELESS!

Yeah, but I'm not sure what we should have expected out of Vincent.

Bringing him in here was like hiring one of those 75-year old security guards you see at the grocery store.

dude was coming off of a bad hammy, and he's a 15 year vet... I'm not sure what anyone expected out of him, but to teach our safeties how to cover a little...

No suprise there. I loved him as a player when he had more to offer, but he was a desperation pick-up for us at a time when I thought it would have been wise to develop a young player at the position. Reed Doughty could have used the minutes Vincent got, and been better prepared for this season. We can surely use the 1.3 mil for better purposes.

omg hahaha...that is SOOOOOOOO not funny but, I cant stop laughing.

Vincent isnt bad but, I think cutting him was the economical thing to do. He helped us whoop dallas and to me, you cant put a price on that. Vincent got his diaper, cigarette, booze and pot money, he's cool. Thank you Troy. And I mean that. GL SIR!

So other than a blocked FG, (the greatest in skins history) he did nothing for us.

exactly

Re: Troy Vincent Released

Releasing him saves us $1.3 million in 2007. That's not an insignificant amount of space, so unless he was making a decent impact for us, releasing him makes sense.

Prioleau can do everything Vincent did for us last year, and more.

Thank you Troy for that incredible block against the Cowboys, that will always be one of my favorite Redskins memories, but I think we all seen this cut coming. Good luck in the future Troy.

Re: Troy Vincent Released

He earned my respect with that one play and also saved me from loosing $100.00. I did like the fact that when he put on a Skins uniform it was as if he had played here for his whole life. The way he talked to the media about the team and just how he presented himself showed that he was a good team mate. He may have only had one big play but I think he brought a positive attitude which I hope rubbed off on our younger players.

Re: Troy Vincent Released

Reported on ESPN today, Troy asked to be let go. At his age he's looking for more time on the field..... BYE!

• The interesting part of the Redskins' release of safety Troy Vincent is that Vincent requested it. Though it might have been considered a cap move to save the Redskins $1.54 million, Vincent asked to be let go. He wanted to move on to a different team that could offer him more playing time. Vincent is 35.

Exactly! Came in, did his job. Promoted a good image for the Skins.
