Re: Espn:Eagles and Bills talk trade involving LB Spikes
Spikes was a great player a few years ago, one of the best linebackers in the league. I don't know if he's fully recovered from injuries or is starting to show his age, but I wouldn't want him in an Eagles uniform.

Re: Espn:Eagles and Bills talk trade involving LB Spikes
If this happens it'll be interesting to see what Philly would give up. Getting Kelly Holcomb certainly would help them, and Trotter is in decline so Spikes would help that LB corps a lot IF healthy. But he's now 30+ and is coming off a ruptured achilles. Ask Jansen and LaVar how much that injury sucks. So he's damaged goods in my opinion, but he is a good leader and has excellent work ethic. I'll be keeping my eye on this one...

Re: Espn:Eagles and Bills talk trade involving LB Spikes
You guys are crazy, this is a top flight defender with a mean streak. Jim Johnson is not a coach you want with a Takeo Spikes at his disposal. Johnson loves to blitz, and Spikes will attack with reckless abandon.
We don't want him in our division. |
Re: Espn:Eagles and Bills talk trade involving LB Spikes

That guy is injury prone. Won't play much if they get him. |
Re: Espn:Eagles and Bills talk trade involving LB Spikes
This is the linebacker that we should have signed from the bills.

Re: Espn:Eagles and Bills talk trade involving LB Spikes
Per PFT, it's a done deal.
Holcolmb and Spikes for Darwin Walker and a late round pick. Wtf is up with the Bills? I didn't think I'd see the day when a team was willing to give up so much for...Darwin Walker. |
Re: Espn:Eagles and Bills talk trade involving LB Spikes
spikes is still a big upgrade for the iggles. good move on their part; this makes them better.

"In a deal that addresses Philadelphia's offseason priority for adding a playmaking linebacker, the Eagles acquired veteran Takeo Spikes from the Buffalo Bills on Monday night. Takeo SpikesSpikes The Eagles also acquired veteran backup quarterback Kelly Holcomb as part of the trade package. In exchange, Buffalo received seven-year veteran defensive tackle Darwin Walker, who had become extraneous in Philadelphia because of the team's depth, and an undisclosed draft choice, believed to be a late-round pick. The trade was first reported by ESPN.com." I guess the bills needed to clear some money to pay for Dockery. LOL The Bills are going backwards. First they get rid of Travis Henry. Then they get rid of McGhee. They lose Nate Clements and London Fletcher. Then over pay for Dockery. This team is in big trouble. |
