Are they stupid or am I? Lynch vs Peterson
 

Ok, so I took a poll on nfl.com that asked who will get more rushing yards in 2007, Lynch or Peterson. I answered my answer as Marshawn Lynch and thought it was an obvious pick, but to my surprise, about 60% of the fans said Peterson would get more yards. This angered me and I started to think how stupid these people are. My reasons for Lynch getting more yards is simple, he is playing in a run first offense with an improved o-line, and he is without a doubt the featured back. Peterson has those features as well, but he is splitting carries with Chester Taylor, who had over 1200 yards last season.

i really like Peterson, but his history of injuries really has me worried. that man is like a train wreck waiting to happen

IMO this is Peterson hands down. He's a better runner behind a better line. Only he has a bit more competition with Chester Taylor.

I just wanted to say that I'm well aware that Peterson is the better runner, but then again Portis is a better runner than Travis Henry, and they are both in a runner friendly offense, but Portis will probably get less yards due to his split time with Betts will be much more than Henry's split with Mike Bell.

If Peterson's collarbone holds up it will be Peterson IMO. Running behind Steve Hutchinson and McKinley is a bit better than running behind Dockery. I'm not all that impressed with what I saw from Lynch and, despite putting up decent numbers, Chester Taylor wore down incredibly by the end of last year, he just is not an every down back.

Peterson is going to have to run with more discipline and trust his blockers more than he did in college. That college running style ain't going to fly at this level. NFL defenses will "tackle" you.

He's going to get that worked out, but until he does, I'll go with Lynch.

nah ur stupid lol j/k vikings offensive line on top of peterson is better and CT isnt priest holmes and the bills suck so peterson will have way more yards

Peterson will definitely lose a lot of carries to Taylor so that will hurt his chances of putting up big numbers right away.

The Vikings will find out in a hurry that Peterson is 10 times the back CT is, the only question that remains is can Peterson stay healthy for 16 games playing the majority on turf?

I would say Lynch will have more yards b/c he will be the unquestioned starter right off the bat. The Vikes gave Chester Taylor a fat contract before last season, so I seriously doubt he rides the bench in favor of a rookie. Peterson is a monster talent, but he will see time in a running back by committee situation at best. Minnesota does have the better offensive line, and I think playing weaker defenses like Detroit and GB twice a year would favor Peterson... But again, I'll say Lynch since he'll be the starter from day 1.

what other injuries has peterson had besides the collar bone? . . but i do agree with the people that say peterson needs to change his running style cuz he probaly wont be succesful taking on tacklers like he did in college.

why would people be stupid to pick peterson to have more yards when he and lynch havent played a down yet? reasonable intelligent minds could disagree on this
