New Virginia Laws We Had Wrong
 

Ok, I know there is a thread on this but it has run its course and we had it all wrong. For example, the one listed as RD-On Parking Lots thats not for just driving arcoss a parking lot the Rd stands for "reckless Driving". If you look all of the offenses are ones which can be reckless driving or a major violation. So it has to be a major violation before the civil fees are applied. So if you get a tick for going 10mph over the limit it is just the cost of the ticket and court cost "No Additional Fines". I heard this topic on the radio today and they had someone explaining the laws and after I looked at it again I noticed the Rd by the infractions which made more sense.

My entire point was the extra penalty.

It would be like I'm a Virginian and yer from another state and let's say we did a crime which had a 1 year jail time but they gave me an additional 10 years for being from this state. That's wrong.

THAT is my point.

Oh, I agree with that but we all thought that the fines would be for just about any moving violation.

No the new fines are about cars and stuff but my point remains the same.

Your welcome as I think most here where confused about what the deal was. I still don't like them only singling out Va. residents but its not as bad as we thought. The guy on the show said it was a copy of what NJ does but in NJ its also hits out of state drivers.

At least that's fair. Now NJ is without a doubt a place that could use some extra stringent driving laws. It seems if I see an NJ plate here in VA, it's them blowing by me going at least twenty or thirty miles faster than me.
