Quentin Moses (reason he got cut)
Is because he got beat out of the roster by none other than our old Chris Clemmons (I wish we still had him).

Re: Quentin Moses (reason he got cut)
The only reason you cut a third round pick is because the player you see before you in person does not resemble the player you saw on film. That may be because of weight or attitude or it may be that you don't know what you are looking at on film. You don't cut him because a vet outplays them. In that world, the only rooks that would ever make it would be guys like Laron Landry.
Moses was at one time talked about as the equal of Gaines Adams in terms of their potential. He's been on a downhill slide ever since. I think he needs to have a Come to Jesus* moment or he'll be quckly forgotten. *figure of speech-meaning he needs to get his shit together pronto |
Re: Quentin Moses (reason he got cut)
I'm willing to bet that the reason he got cut was to send a message to the rest of the team. In other words 'no one is safe and if you don't play the way we expect you to play then we will have no problem letting you go.'
Trust me if we take this much notice of a third rounder getting cut then the rest of the team will definately take notice. However, in my opinion though its a hefty price to pay to send a message. |
Re: Quentin Moses (reason he got cut)
it had to be attitude or an idiot coach trying to be a hard-arse or something. I mean, if he sucks soo much you can't keep him on the roster at vet min, that'd be really sad.
i would like clemons back though. he's a great situational player. |
Re: Quentin Moses (reason he got cut)
I wouldn't mind bringing in Moses for a look, but in the end I think Chris Wilson will still be a better pass rushing option than Moses will be.
Nevermind I forgot he was claimed by the Cardinals. |

If that actually is true and that's what happened, I'm laughing my ass off. Thank god our coaching staff/front office is not that screwed up that they could accidentally release a guy like that. Could you imagine what it would be like if the Redskins cut someone young and with a bright future ahead of them like that? Say Kedric Golston got cut, i'm sure we'd all be wondering what the hell happened. |
Re: Quentin Moses (reason he got cut)
someone just lost their job no doubt...that is ridiculous

Re: Quentin Moses (reason he got cut)
ha! ....

Re: Quentin Moses (reason he got cut)
Wow!...... and we thought our FO was inept.

Re: Quentin Moses (reason he got cut)
They didn't cut him by mistake

Re: Quentin Moses (reason he got cut)
Before we get too carried away enjoying the folly of the Raiders ineptitude, let us remember that the Redskins, in the mid 90s, drafted an OT in the first round named Andre Johnson who was so bad he stayed on the practice squad all year and then disappeared off the face of the earth. I think the only reason he made the PS was so Casserly and his scouts could save a modicum of face. At least the Raiders error (and I believe they are denying it) was merely clerical. Remember the Andre Johnson debacle when you start to complain about our FO or suggest we hire a "real" G.M.

Wow, the Skins had a draft bust? You don't say. If you can't laugh at this gaffe by the Raiders you just don't have a sense of humor. I don't see how this relates to any draft mistakes the Skins have made, after all there isn't a team in the league that hasn't drafted a few busts. But to cut a guy on accident? Ouch, that's just insanely dumb. |

It is however very weird that a team could be high enough on a guy to take him first pick in the third round, and not even feel hes one of your best 53 players. Especially since he was a dominant pass rusher in college. |
Re: Quentin Moses (reason he got cut)
Yeah I'm hearing reports as well that that article I posted isn't true. Idk what to think anymore, but either way I still think the Raiders front office has some degree of ineptitude for drafting a player with the 1st pick in the third round and then cutting him before the season starts.

Re: Quentin Moses (reason he got cut)
if thats true, and they cut him by mistake, both those guys should be fired. and I'm not hard core by any stretch. but i don't think its too much to ask someone to do their job correctly
