How will the team react?
Listening to the tragedy of Sean covered by Larry Michaels. He mentions, "How will the team react". As larry points out, it seems impossible to imagine having to play a game this week while coming to grips with the murder of ST. The team is obviously devastated over this.
Will the team rally and re-dedicate themselves in the memory of Sean, or will they not be able to pull it together. I hope they do, what Sean would do, and Kick the living shit out of somebody! |
Re: How will the team react?
I wonder who will even play, especially if there are ceremonies happening this weekend. It's a bit ironic (probably using that word wrong) when you consider they are playing the Bills who were dealing with their own tragedy earlier this year. Though for them their tragedy took a significant turn for the better
Two games in ten games under these circumstances is awfully tough. But at the same time 0-2 under these circumstances really doesn't matter does it? |
Re: How will the team react?
The Bills are gonna get crushed...book it.

Re: How will the team react?
Part of me wonders how the hell we can even think about football right now. The other part knows that ST would show up Sunday and lay a beat down out of respect. I think to do anything else would be disrespectful to his memory. We owe this to him. We owe it as fans to show up on Sunday and cheer and cry and the we owe it as a team to honor Sean with effort and pride.

Re: How will the team react?
I'm sure the players will try to honor Sean's memory, but this kind of loss can be so fatiguing. There will be some sleepeless nights for men who have lost a friend.

Re: How will the team react?
I think they'll go out and want to hit them in the mouth. They should have a lot of intensity.
I just noticed that the Bills are somehow involved (sometimes in a small way) in all the scary/tragic things that have happened this year. They had the Kevin Everett thing happen, then they were playing the Bengals when CJ had to get taken off on a stretcher, and now they're playing the Redskins this week coming off this tragedy. Very weird. |
Re: How will the team react?
This isn't about the team, but if the NFL Network wants to really legitimize itself it should be LIVE right now with coverage of these events, not replaying Total Access.

Re: How will the team react?
It reminds me of the article on Springs on redskins.com a few weeks ago. It was about how football is his refuge. THose 3 hours on Sunday will probably be the only time all week that the players will be able to get some frustration and emotion out.

I'm sure they will be live when they can get all of their people in studio, it's probably too early in the morning.. just my best guess. |

It's before 6am in LA. I think NFLN only has a few production people there overnight. Besides, other than the tragic announcement, I don't think there is any other news to report or to go live with. |
Re: How will the team react?
We won't know until they hit the field. I'm sure every player and coach will be dealing with this tragedy in their own way.

I was thinking about going to the game on Sunday before all this happened, but since I've been wishy-washy. I wasn't sure if I could see myself being able to sit in that stadium surrounded by #21 jerseys and cheer for a game. But like you said, that's probably the best way to honor a guy who actually realized just how lucky he was to be able to (as he put it) "play a kid's game for a king's ransom."
Now I sort of feel like I have to go. |
Re: How will the team react?
I don't know how the team will react, but I'm going to be emotional as hell. I'm going to watch this game alone because I know I'll be a wreck and I don't want anyone seeing that. I can't even get any work done today.

Re: How will the team react?
This tragedy is going to be very emotionally draining for everyone in the organization. People react to differently to these events so I don't know what to expect.
