Can the Patriots beat the Giants?

Here's something I don't think anyone has even consider bringing up - Can the Patriots beat the Giants? I know I'll get responses that the Patriots will adjust and do what they have to to win, but the Giants are hot and they played the Patriots very well at the end of the season. Everyone is sleeping on the Giants. The Patriots have played well (very well at times) this season, but the last few weeks of the season and into the playoffs, they didn't dominate like early on. I think the Super Bowl is going to be a great game. Will the Patriots make history by going 19-0 or will the Giants make history beating the Patriots? I think the Patriots can go undefeated, but I'll also contradict myself and say the Giants have a tremendous chance to beat the Patriots. Just my opinion. Anyone else have any thoughts?

The Patriots beat the Giants in Week 17. So... yes. They can.

Sheesh.

You mean can the Giants beat the Pats.

Re: Can the Patriots beat the Giants?

Yeah. They're 1-0 against 'em this year.

But really, I do think it's gonna be a great game. According to PFT, Brady is walking around in a boot with a limp from an injury he possibly sustained the week before against Jax. (Possible explanation for 3 picks and less than 200yds passing on Sunday??)

I think the Giants have a very legitimate shot to upset the Pats. And I hope they do. I'm so tired of Smug Bill, Tommy Terrific and their merry men.

GMScud, I just went onto Pro Football Talk's website and read about Tom Brady. They had a picture from PageSix.com and you can clearly see the boot. Also, there was a video from TMZ.com and Brady's got a noticeable limp. Could be very interesting for the Super Bowl.

This post is all over the place. First you say no one is considering can the Patriots win, then you say everyone is sleeping on the Giants. Then you say you think the Patriots can win, then you say but hey it could be the Giants. So what exactly are you saying?

It's like reading a post written by Herschel Walker (too soon?)

Re: Can the Patriots beat the Giants?

The Pats can (and will) defeat the Gmen unless Brady is knocked from the game. IMO the only chance NY has is to target Brady early on and put him on a stretcher (even if it leads to one or two blown coverages that yield TD's for NE). Fortunately, the Gmen have arguably the best shot of all 31 teams to do this because their d-line is so dominant.

SB39
Pats 24
Eagles 21

SB38
Pats 32
Panthers 29

SB36
Pats 20
Rams 17

Giants win here in a slug fest. High scoring game with turnovers and big plays. Go NFC EAST!!

I wouldn't be surprised if he put that on as a gag, hoping a photographer would see him and a story would be made of nothing.

As for the game. 5 keys for the Giants

1) Limit the YAC. The secondary did a great job tackling, need it again. Obviously the 90 yard play was not an example of good tackling.

2) pressure Brady-easier said than done. They have a great OLine and their backs know how to pick up blitzes.

3) Eli has not only played well the past 4 3/4 games, but he has gotten better each game. Needs to keep it up.

4) Receivers need to catch the damn ball. Can't have the drops.

5) Run the ball. When they have an equal balance of runs and passes, they win. When they try to do too much of one, they lose.
