Zach Thomas released....
..........any thoughts?
|
Re: Zach Thomas released....
He will probably go play for the Dallas or Houston.
|
Re: Zach Thomas released....
He'd add some nice depth to the LB position while Rocky heals, but can he/ would he want to play outside?
|
Re: Zach Thomas released....
He was an exciting player in his prime...I dont see him being productive anymore tho.. with his recent head trauma and the way he plays his body cant hold up for another season.

Re: Zach Thomas released....
I don't see Zach moving to outside LB with us having London Fletcher in the middle, I would love to have him though, yea he is gaining in age, but he isn't washed up or past his prime, he is a professional from day 1 in this league.
I can't really look at Zach in the terms of "depth" either, he is a starter, he would be underused to play him like the Pats do with Junior Seau (even though Seau is useless if he played every down, but you get my point). I would like to see him stay out of the NFC East, and go play for a team like the Texans or even the Cardinals to help bring their teams to some sort of winning ways. |
Re: Zach Thomas released....
this reminds me of one of my favorite jokes...
this guy from WV brings home his fiancee to meet his parents. Hes telling his dad about her... "She cooks like Emeril, she cleans like Mary Poppins, and she's as loyal as a tick hound.... and best of all, she's a virgin!" to which the dad exclaimed, "F that son.... If she ain't good enough for her own family, she ain't good enough for our'n." that's basically how I feel about Zack Thomas. :) |
Re: Zach Thomas released....
How long till someone suggest that we make him swallow his pride and sign for the Vet minimum?

I'll suggest it...he was a helluva Linebacker for many years, and the ultimate team player...but his head is suspect...how many concussions has this guy had now? IMO if you sign him you are taking a big risk...too big to give him anything more than vet min...if the Cowpies want him for more than that, they can have him, personally I think he should call it a career while he can still remember his own name... |
Re: Zach Thomas released....
yeah he sat out of several games last year due to migraines, including the redskins opener...
|
Re: Zach Thomas released....
I think I heard on NFL Network that he was being talked to by Dallas and New Orleans. I wouldn't want him here just for the simple fact that he is injury plagued and getting older.
I was thinking he would be PERFECT for the Pats. The way they run old LB's and use Miami's old talent, it just seems right. |
Re: Zach Thomas released....
Well, the guy still has something left in the tank. He will do a GREAT job for some team for maybe 6-10 games if they are lucky, but that's all you're gonna get with his head issues.
I'll pass, but I wish him luck in his employment search. He was too good a LB to end his career like this, he should end it on his own terms. |
Re: Zach Thomas released....
Zach helped ruin our season by taking Jansen out. I hope we get him so Jansen can eat him.
