Didn't the Redskins beat the Cowboys?
I knew this was going to happen. Most of the postgame talk today is focused on how the Cowboys lost rather than how the Redskins won. I was just listending to ESPN radio and Mike Tirico made a comment along the lines of, next we'll talk about how the Cowboys screwed up that game.
Is the media really that in love with the Cowboys that they can't stomach the thought that someone actually went into their house and smacked them around? Why is it still all about them even in a loss? |
Re: Didn't the Redskins beat the Cowboys?
Matty,
Read my post of how the mighty have fallen. I keep reading things about how the Redskins Beat the Cowboys and the score is a lot closer then the game was. The radio guys just suck. lol. Cause in print they are giving us our dues. |
Re: Didn't the Redskins beat the Cowboys?
Anyone else hear the story of how our locker room was over 90 degrees (the AC wasn't working, despite it being nice and cool in Dallas' locker room)? Or how one of our sideline cool blowers was "malfunctioning?" Bull shit. Nice try Dallas.
Throw on Doc Walker. The national media has a pathetic love affair with their Dallas Darlings. I'm tired of it. Jaws gives us props though. |
Re: Didn't the Redskins beat the Cowboys?
I think most non-skins analysts that watched the game know that we didn't luck into this win, that we WON the game by some good ole fashioned butt kickin.
However, of course, I'm sure ESPN, and the shows, would rather talk about TO, Romo, and all of the other Cowboys, b/c thats the sexy thing to do. I really wouldn't expect anything else. And I guess thats why i hate the Cowboys. |
Re: Didn't the Redskins beat the Cowboys?
hey guys this is my first time posting here. I visit all the time just to read and see what the fans that actually live in the D.C. area are saying. I remember reading someone post about missing D. Snyder Celebration well I found it on youtube. just type dan snyder and you can find it.
HAIL TO THE REDSKINS!!! |

Why is it still all about them even in a loss?
for the last 40 years,at least in the skins/cowboys games i saw,the media has always been in love with the cowboys.remember in 1982 in the nfc championship all the beat writers and tv reporters said the redskins did'nt have a chance at beating dallas.madden/summerall were the only ones who i remember said that the skins would win.i really do think that cowboy fans are mostly classy, but they all have a you did'nt beat us because we messed up attitude after every loss, especially to a redskins team they see as a pebble in the shoe.my 2 sons in law are cowboy fans, and they are like that. that's what i would say most of it is. |
Re: Didn't the Redskins beat the Cowboys?
The standard line before showing the highlights today? "Skins shocking upset". A local TV station here asked the question of which was more shocking, Chiefs over Denver or Skins over Cowboys.

KC over Denver was a big shocker, but a 2-1 Redskins team beating a 3-0 Cowboys team? I don't get why that's a shocker for some people. |

Did you happen to see the point spread? The Skins win was a shocking upset. |

It was shocking in regard to the spread I guess, but the spread is just something in place to keep the betting money even on both sides. Were you really shocked about the outcome? |
Re: Didn't the Redskins beat the Cowboys?
On TV, ESPN has talked both about the things the Cowboys did wrong-not giving the ball to Barber, forcing it to TO; and what the Redskins did right-aggressive playcalling, smart decisions by Campbell, Thrash selling the play on his TD, aggressive running by Portis.

I haven't watched anything today, but after the highlights last night on SC all the talk seemed to be focused on the Cowboys. Redskins Hold Off Late Cowboys' Rally; Win 26-24 - ESPN Video |
