Looking at the schedule...

Do you guys realize after this week in Philly we have a very favorable 3 game stretch that includes home against the Rams, home against the Browns, and away at Detroit? We could realistically be 7-1 or 6-2 heading into the Monday nighter against the Steelers.

Re: Looking at the schedule...

There is no reason we shouldn't be 7-1. Westbrook is still not looking good to play:

[quote]Coach Andy Reid said Brian Westbrook (ankle) wouldn't have been able to go if the Eagles were practicing on Monday.

Clearly, Westbrook wasn't too close to playing Sunday night in Chicago. The Eagles still consider him day to day, but his status for Week 5 could again come down to a game-time decision. See if he's able to practice Wednesday.

Re: Looking at the schedule...

The best part is that I don't see a single non-divisional team on the schedule that I don't think we match up well with. Obviously playing Seattle at Seattle has been the bane of our existence for some time but they are NOT playing good football this season so I think we have a much better chance.

I really hate to look ahead, normally I don't look at the schedule much, but seeing that upcoming 3 game stretch has me drooling.

Re: Looking at the schedule...

I agree it's certainly possible to be 6-2 going into that Monday Night Game.

I think we should all have some cautious optimism here. We are a team w/ a new coach and a new system. We've won a few games in a row and played very well thru the majority of those games. We are not in a position to think we are that much better than many teams out there. A couple more decisive wins, then maybe. But I'm not ready to believe we are going to win the NFC East yet. The skins still have some work to do. It was a big road win but it's just one road win.

But, yes the schedule is favorable for the skins, but I still realize we are a work in progress. Hopefully we can take another step this week in Philly.

I think if the team continues on its present course, there is a real chance to get on a serious roll. They pretty well controlled the game from the midway point of the 1st qtr on sunday. I am excited about where this is going.

I love coach z's post game press conferences, you can tell he loves the game, his team and coaching he is like a big kid just the shot we needed IMO

Yes the team especially the offense is a work in progress, but you have to be encouraged by how quickly things seem to be coming together. With more time the offense should only continue to improve. Of course there will be bumps in the road along the way, I'm not ready to say it's smooth sailing from here out, but you've gotta like the fact we're sitting in a pretty favorable position considering how tough the early season schedule was set up.

Even as we look at Philly, I see St. Louis as a huge trap game, they have a new coach, coming out of a bye, Al Saunders knows our defense, and probably would like nothing better than to beat us. And if we beat Philly, we really could be sitting on top of the NFC world.

He knows Williams D, not so much on Blache.

The positive is Bulger and company are still struggling in digesting that infamous 700 page playbook.

Well if we win this week then I'll say we turned a neg into a positive. I think Zorn has shown that he is smart enough not to look past any game so I'm not really worried about that.

if we can pull out a win this week it will put the redskins in a totally new light. The bandwagons will roll and people will start to give this team some cred for being a competitor, i personally think that the browns game should be a good one. Who knows tho? Lets focus on this week...if we get past those eagles it will be time to drool a little bit and get anxious!

As always the NFC games are huge. Skins have a lot riding on this one. If they do not at least split the divisional games the playoffs might have to wait till next year. I have been lick'in my chops as well. 7-1 at the half way point should put us in.
