While we are sort of on the subject, if someone is offering for sale an autographed jersey or other personalized memorabilia, what documentation is customarily supplied? Anything?

No harm in trying. If no one buys it, so what? If he sells it, he made a ton of profit. One mans trash is anothers treasure.
What concerns me is that there is no real description. I won't touch anything without a description.

Usually they give a COA (Cert. of Authenticity) sometimes a pic of the player signing the item also.. I could be wrong in this, but i think the item you have linked is not actually autographed.. it's just a stitching of the players auto..

That's what it looked like to me too. I think I can get that same jersey ordered for about $75-$100 out here. Could be wrong...but looks similar.

Yes, this is definately just a stitched thing, not really signed.

The people that do signings in Fredericksburg have some guides on Ebay.... I think we had a thread about a year ago on them.... here is the link to one of them:
