Obama's Joint Session of Congress Speech
So, anyone else watch it? What did you guys think?

Re: Obama's Joint Session of Congress Speech
I thought it was good that he put some positive spin on things, I think people needed to hear some optimism.
On the other hand I thought Bobby Jindal's reaction was a complete joke. |
Re: Obama's Joint Session of Congress Speech

On the other hand I thought Bobby Jindal's reaction was a complete joke.
It was very canned. Probably intentionally so. He was handpicked by the RNC to deliver the response. It was pretty blah, just an along party lines kind of thing. Anyone else hear the MSNBC producer or host (someone off camera) say, "oh God," right before the Republican response? Silly lefties. |
Re: Obama's Joint Session of Congress Speech
Just like I can't wrap my head around how we have the cap room to keep Jason Taylor, Shawn Springs, DeAngelo Hall, AND acquire Albert Haynesworth, I can't wrap my head around how Obama can possibly:
- get our deficit cut in half by the end of his first term - cut taxes to 95% of Americans - increase spending on infrastructure - infuse the financial system with enough cash to get banks to lend again You know me, I do the math. And I just can't see how it adds up, either for the Redskins or for Obama! But he was positive and he did unite the country. He's a good leader, and I like what he's doing in Afghanistan. The country needed to hear the positivity, even if it's mathematically impossible. |
Re: Obama's Joint Session of Congress Speech
Even the Republicans saying Jindal bombed

I guess Jindal doesn't send a thrill up his leg.:) |
Re: Obama's Joint Session of Congress Speech

I have never heard of theGOP's guy and did not even see him at all but from what I heard he was pretty flat and thats coming for the right. |
Re: Obama's Joint Session of Congress Speech
Question: Who the frick cares about Jindal, the governor of friggin LOUISIANA?
How bout we focus on what Obama had to say, since he's the one charged with leading this country. |
