Do we want Brunell to be Tony Banks?
 

I know we want Brunell to play better, but I dont think we are expecting something reminiscent of Peyton Manning. However, if Brunell started playing really conservative, with next to no mistakes, ala Tony Banks of a few years ago, when we went 0-5, then 5-0, do you think we would have a chance at the playoffs?

i think we still have a shot at the playoffs. i figured wed start off slow trying to learn this new system. if brunell cuts out the mistakes then we can win with him. we'll never be able to put up huge points under brunell but we dont need to with our defense right now. we just need our offense to stop giving up points.

Well if Brunell can muster up more than 8 wins in the next 10 games, we might be in the race. Tony Banks did win 8 games eventually. So anything's possible.

thats be awesome if he got us 8 wins. that would probably get us a playoff spot!

Are you kidding me. We barely beat a sorry ass bears team today. If were gonna win one more game, we've got to make a change at quaterback. I've never been so sad after a skins win in my life. Today was a pathetic performance for the offense. We've go to make a change, especially with the buy coming up. Two weeks to get Patrick ready to roll.

he's not tony banks, he's supposed to be a vet that doesn't make mistakes, but he's given up sooo many points and made soo many mistakes, and missed soo many wide open receivers, and blown soo many deep passes, i don't see it happening...

We need a miracle with Brunnel

I'd rather him play like the mark brunell that went to the pro bowl thats why he has the contract that he has

I think there has to be a tremendous turnaround on offense for us to even contemplate the 'Skins making the playoffs. We have yet to score more than 18 points. Our defense is awesome, but it's not racking up points. Whether the change that needs to occur is Brunell going (which I think), or something else has yet to be seen, but anyone who thinks the offense we've fielded the past 6 weeks will take us into the playoffs is smoking some crazy stuff.

you know guys our schedule is only going ot get harder. its been easy so far and we are 2-4...

I'm sick of people saying "our offense" is pathetic. Portis ran for over 170 yards yesterday. That is certainly not pathetic. The PASSING GAME is pathetic, and Ramsey should be playing, but Gibbs won't do it. It's just not his style. I think Brunell has the capability of stepping it up to about average, but not much more. If he did that, we would be fine, but he hasn't. Ramsey has much more upside, but "Gibbs loves veteran QB's," so we're stuck with Brunell for at least another game or two.
