For those who want to draft Maurice Clarett...

Amazingly, he and his agent think he might be injured in this competition but other guys who will actuallyl go in the first round don't think that way.

And here is yet another example of Clarett making a commitment and then changing that commitment. I'd be very happy to see him in another uniform so he can cause trouble eslewhere.

Clarett is the greatest RB is Ohio State History! I think we should take him with our first pick. He seems like he has his head on straight and would be a greatr locker room presence. He seems just like a Gibbs type of guy. Maybe we should trade up to get him like the Saints did for Ricky WIlliams. You guys think he'll be available with the 3rd pick?

SC - you know as well as eveyone on this board that a lot of people refuse to play in these games. The combine is the end all be all of workouts, I bet he'll be there. Clarett's just listening to his agent like anyone else that makes stupid decesions. They could have simply declined and it wouldn't have been an issue.

Ohh I do, trust me. Maybe if you would've made it clearer that you were being sarcastic.....then I wouldn't be asking that question.

Remember man I can't see or hear what you're trying to say/type. Thats why we have icons buddy.

When trying to convey sarcasm, try adding a ;) to your post just to give us a hint.

As for Clarett I don't see Gibbs being interested in a guy like him. Too much baggage, too many other needs to address.

TheMalcolmConnection 02-01-2005 11:23 AM

I had to learn to do just that. ;)

I'm so misunderstood. :(

Clarett is an ass-monkey. (No sarcasm denoted - he really is an ass-monkey).

Seriously...how could anyone think I was being serious with the quoted post. I mean com'on use some concrete thinking guys...

I don't give a rats a$$ about clarett, but it seems funny how the same things were being said about Moss or Sapp coming out of college...and they did ok. Just because they smoked weed or didn't go to church does not mean they can't play football. It is football we are talking about not divinity school. You guys are being way to judgemantal on a bunch of kids that could mature and could become responsible adults. I know because I was a little crazy at their age, but I grew up.
You forget guys like Riggo and Jurgensen were heavy party guys, but the media just stayed out of their personal lives.

Under no circumstances should the skins take MC. Moss is a cancer in the locker room and nobody on Tampa was sorry to see Sapp go. Besides MC has been out of football for a while now and only really played 1 college season. He's not worth the risk.

Hey Matty - why did Gibbs say last offseason that he wasn't for underclassmen coming in, but he sure as hell would draft Clarett it gave him the best chance to win?

Clarett is a great back, and I hope all of your stand by this if he breaks out and has a huge career.

I'm not saying he's a not talented guy, he definitely is.

Does he fill a pressing need here though?? Not as long as Portis is here.

I can't see us spending a mid round pick on a backup RB. Somebody will take a chance on him though and they could have a gem on their hands.

I think Gibbs comment was based more on whether or not he was in favor of underclassmen and not specifically on Clarett.
