I'm not at all sold on Thompson at RB. Silas Redd might win that job. I'm wondering if they will keep 3 QB's. I'm thinking they might keep another safety instead. Trenton Robinson would be good to keep because he's good on ST. We need to get better on ST this year. Frank Kearse looked better than either Golston or Geathers in the first preseason game, IMO. |

But according to all camp reports, he's been outstanding during practice. If he continues to not show up in the preseason games though, I'd give his spot to Redd. We could cut Thompson and try to keep him on the practice squad, but I doubt he'd last long there. Putting Biggers on over Crawford was probably the toughest decison. But all the camp reports I can recall basically say Crawford hasn't been showing much speed and burst and has been late to the ball a lot. Perhaps next year he'll be 100%, but I figured Biggers was the better option at this point. Tandler mentioned today how Adrien Robinson could be kept over Jackson due to the former being a better pure pass-rusher. Perhaps if we kept 5 OLBs, Robinson might make the roster, but otherwise I think RJax is the better overall option. Anyway, just some of my thoughts... |

Re: Another Prediction Thread: 53-man Roster Projections
If Aldrick Robinson continues to play well and the final WR spot comes down to A. Robinson and 35 year old Santana Moss....who should we keep?
I think there is enough game evidence A. Robinson is an NFL WR. Still not an easy choice. |

Plus, he has great speed and speed kills. If the Skins keep 5 WR's, then Santana could still be released because the Skins will want to keep Ryan Grant. But I'm guessing that they will keep 6 WR's. If so, I think that Santana would be safe. I would really hate to see Moss go. He is a favorite of mine. |

Him and Chris Thompson. I gotta feeling Thompson and Silas Reed go to the practice squad. Seastrunk wins the 3rd down back. I think the "surprise" cut/inclusion on roster comes in the secondary. I got a feeling Rambo might be the cut/practice squad. |
Re: Another Prediction Thread: 53-man Roster Projections
I thought Rambo played much better this game. I still think he makes the 53.

Re: Another Prediction Thread: 53-man Roster Projections
Jay Gruden had some ominous words to say that Chris Thompson and Phillip Thomas need to get back on the field so the coaching staff can see what they can do.
Gruden had better not cut PT before he can show what he can do. We're weak at safety and I suspect that PT can help us there. As for CT, I think we have other backs who can do what he does when healthy (which, unfortunately for him, is seldom). |

Yeah, current punt returner depth chart is; 1) Santana Moss 2) DeSean Jackson 3) Andre Roberts 4) Richard Crawford I do not see DeSean Jackson being our everyday punt returner unless it is playoff time. Did Santana Moss even return a punt in last game? Did he even play? Roberts looked shaky. Crawford is still trying to get his legs back after injury. Not there yet. Ideally if Crawford regains his old form, it would make the decision easier. |

Id like to see Robinson make the team over Santana, but the thinking is Moss is he is slot backup. Could Robinson or Grant become the slot back up? I dont see why not, but the coaching staff seem to like both on the outside. I really think Hank should go, he cant stay on the field. I would chose Robinson over Hank |
Re: Another Prediction Thread: 53-man Roster Projections
I agree.
A lot can happen in 3 preseason games and ton of practices left until game #1. Should be interesting. |
Re: Another Prediction Thread: 53-man Roster Projections
I still don't trust Aldrick Robinson. Yes, he looked good the other night and apparently has picked things up in practice.
But practice reports from just a couple of weeks ago still described him as the alligator-arms, one-trick pony he has always been. In the past couple of years we might have beaten the Rams and the Lions had Robinson just held onto the friggin ball. I don't wish to see that again. |
