Cowboys vs Skins: Pre-Game thread
Robert Griffin III - Washington Redskins - 2014 Player Profile - Rotoworld.com
Good news to start.
Robert Griffin III (ankle) took the first quarterback rep at Wednesday's practice. In the first individual drill, RGIII was No. 1 and Colt McCoy No. 2. Kirk Cousins has been demoted to No. 3. This doesn't mean Griffin will get the start Monday night against the Cowboys, as coach Jay Gruden has repeatedly said RGIII has "got to be 100 percent" before he plays. We won't get an official practice status from RGIII until Thursday. We'd still consider him unlikely for Week 8. But Griffin is making strides in the right direction and may be targeting Week 9. Re: Cowboys vs Skins: Pre-Game thread
Their defense is overrated. If our defense plays well and the special teams don't have any f*ckups, this game should be close.

Re: Cowboys vs Skins: Pre-Game thread
See, my fantasy opponent has Griffin, therefore he will start and light it up.

Re: Cowboys vs Skins: Pre-Game thread
Don't get me wrong, I think Dallas isn't likely as good as its record would suggest, but it's hard to see how we win this game. We have our #3 QB (most likely) playing, we've just lost one of our two starting OLBs, we're already missing a starting CB and a starting nickelback, our starting NT, and we've otherwise had significant injuries elsewhere as well. All teams have injuries, but teams without significant depth (us) have a far harder time recovering from that. Also, we have committed lots of bad penalities (one of the most penalized teams in the league), and with the exception of last week, special teams has been sub-standard. We also don't generate turnovers or convert third downs particularly well.
I'd love to think that with our backs against the wall, guys will step up on a nationally televised game and put up a real fight. But Dallas will likely smell blood from the get go, and let's be honest, our Monday night games have largely been disasters as of late. To keep this game close, we will need Romo to have a crap night with some picks, and we'll have to play mistake-free football, which we really haven't done much this season. I'd like to be optimistic that we will get a win (and how sweet would it be to bring the Cowboys crashing back to Earth in their own place). And while one never knows what will happen in a rivaly game like this, I just can't see us winning this one. Pukes: 37 Redskins: 20 |
Re: Cowboys vs Skins: Pre-Game thread
High-scoring game. Given our personnel, it will be hard for us to stop Witten and Bryant. But we might be able to slow down the bellcow Murray.
The Pokes D has played well but is hardly invincible. Skins 34 Cowfarts 31 |

Redskins-Cowboys
National Television Somehow I'm thinking this game should probably be televised during SyFy Channel's Halloween Spooktacular. I hope the Skins surprise me though. |

I would take their defense over the skins defense, especially their defensive coordinator. I think the skins keep it close for a half and the Cowboys pull away in the third quarter. |

Ehhh... that defense looks okay right now, but it's because of the offense. They're just facing fewer plays this year. Remember how bad they were last year? Check out these stats: They're allowing the same number of yards-per-play as last year: 6.1. They don't have a good pass rush, with 6 sacks on the year. Considerably worse than last year, when they finished with 34. They're on pace for 1 more turnover than last year, with a team turnover ration of -1(granted, quite a bit better than us). Their opposing team's 3rd down conversion percentage(42%)is the same as our opponent's, and only slightly lower than theirs last year(43%). Sorry, not impressed. Although I would say Marinelli is doing a solid job considering the kind of talent they have. |
Re: Cowboys vs Skins: Pre-Game thread
The only thing that has me holding out hope is that the Skins would have had a chance at least for another win or two if it weren't for all the turnovers by Cousins. If Colt can come in and manage the game, let DJax and Garcon make some big plays, our D shows up like they should for a rival, we minimize the penalties, and not give up anything big on ST, well we might stand a chance. Those are a lot of ifs . . .

Re: Cowboys vs Skins: Pre-Game thread
Classic Redskins vs. Cowboys game. They are not going to run on us. Redskins win.

Re: Cowboys vs Skins: Pre-Game thread
Skins prime times record has been abysmal. I don't have a good feeling about this one.

For sure. The Skins can beat the JV but this week they are playing the Varsity. You wont have to stay up late Monday Night. |
