I liked the look of Nixon when he was here. He has all the physical and athletic tools you want but he hasn't been able to stick on an NFL roster.

Somehow, he missed the team flight to Boston for the AFC Championship game. That bothers me a lot. But there is next to nothing to lose in giving him a shot. Bill Callahan might be able to help Nixon become an NFL player, if Nixon wants it enough.

This is the kind of pickup I want to see more of from the Redskins. I want them to run a lot of young players (off waivers, practice squads, street FA's, CFL players, UDFA's) who have the physical tools to succeed through the evaluation process and then, perhaps, a couple of them will stick. This is also a part of building an NFL team from the ground floor, IMO.

I like true competition, hopefully with a new set of eyes looking for talent we can find some help develop it and keep it.
