There's Only One Diesel
 

Okay, so it's the offseason and there's very little football news available until
July when training camps begin. So I'd like to get a little annoyance out of the way. I don't know how many of you follow basketball, well I do, and it just annoys me to know end to hear Shaq called "the diesel". There is ONLY one DIESEL and that's John Riggins. Some of you may be too young to have gotten to know him. Although wacky with the mohawk haircut, outspoken comments, "Regan may be the President, but today I'm king", or "loosen up Sandy baby" to Supreme Court Justice, Sandra Day O'Connor, you could never question Riggins heart when it came to football. He'd be in a hospital all week with back pain, but come Sunday, he was out on the field giving his all. I have the VHS tape from the Redskin Superbowls, and the you just want to stand up and cheer when you hear the announcer say, "HERE COMES THE DIESEL" as they show Riggins Super Bowll highlights. So to Shaq and the media, there is ONLY ONE "Diesel" and he played for the Redskins!!!!!!!! And here is a link on some Riggins highlights over the years.............ENJOY!!!

If there was a new guy to come along in the NFL and want to be deemed 'Diesel', I would have a problem. :oink:

I'm also a huge fan of Riggins, but you go tell Shaq he can't use the name.

They could fight for it, but I don't think that would go too well for our charismatic dumptruck of a running back.

I say they just learn to share.

No, I won't tell Shaq, but I will let Tim Duncan and Bruce Bowen do it......


Let's see fight it out..........naayh, it would look too much like WCF wrestling......."the actor" diesel who would receipt Shakespere versus "the big snack and little intelligence" diesel......who would spell cat if you spot him the c and t...and he would sit there eating his burger king burger (no wonder they went broke..right after he signed on as spokesperson) ........not a fair contest cause Riggo would have the edge on speed ;)
