Re: Redskins Sign 5th Round Pick MLB Robert McCune
allow barrow to seek a trade and sign mccune? looks like barrow is definatly not playing next year. So either marshall or RM at MLB, works for me

Yup. Good news that McCune signed.

Good news here. This guy HAS to be in camp on time, because there is a chance he could start for us at MLB. Great to see he is signed.

Re: Redskins Sign 5th Round Pick MLB Robert McCune
I think I was more excited about picking up McCune than I was about anyone else in the draft this year. I saw his story on NFLTA and watched him dominate everyone in the combine. He was the fastest linebacker that worked out and he benched 40 million reps. Seriously, I think if we can take a number 2 guy like Pierce, and turn him into "The best MLB to ever play the game", we can work wonders with this guy.

This is great news. Hopefully we can get the rest of our draft picks signed.

I hope McCune has a long and storied career with us, but don't count Holdman out of the MLB mix. He was the linebacker we wanted last year, when we settled for Barrow. |
Re: Redskins Sign 5th Round Pick MLB Robert McCune
And don't forget about Clifton Smith, or Marshall for that matter either.
I think we've got alot of potential and depth at LB. |

A close friend of mine is a graduate student in the sports administration program at the University of Lousiville and knows this guy personally. They call him "The Hammer" down there and from everything he said RM is the real deal. Obviously, Gibbs and co. wouldn't pick someone if they didn't believe he would turn into a capable pro but from what I'm told this guy's leadership skills are unmatched; a credit to his time in the US Army. Also, folks down in UL felt the only reason why he was chosen so low were his age and relative "lack" of football experience. Other than that this guy has every intangible needed to succeed at the "mike" position. Yesterday we were caught up in an email that lambasted the FO for poor draft decisions. Drafting players like RM will only prove the our FO is making generous steps in changing the opinion that we're caught in a slipper slope for poor drafts. He'll be a special teams all-star and hopefully develop into a beast up the middle. 6-0 foot 245 pound monster who ran the fastest 4.0 at the combine: goodnight.

I love inside info like that! Who ever has any more behind the scense stuff bring it on! By the way, I hung out with someone who went to Lebrons's highschool and knew him fairly well . . . talk about dirt. I'll save that for another forum! |
