Inside the NFC

Sporting News August 5 issue...

"Redskins FS Sean Taylor is expected to be at training camp but missed offseason workouts and a minicamp while dealing with legal problems. He's talented enough to be an impact player, but his absences will hinder his development..."

From another article...
"Some are intrigued by two Randy Moss - Champ Bailey matchups per year now that Moss is with the Raiders. Why? Bailey couldn't shut down Jerry Porter in a blizzard last season."

i watched that porter-champ game... the snow made the place look super nice, but champ was AWFUL... it looked like he tripped himself TWICE during the game so it wouldn't look like porter was beating him so bad on deep plays.

Yeah, but the football was the same for Porter too. :)

Champ was a good corner, but not as good as people think. He covered well and didn't let guys get behind him, but when QB's decided to throw his way, there was usually enough room for a good pass to be completed. What Champ does best is take away YAC. Doesn't help much in the endzone.

Im glad someone else noticed that. I thought I noticed him doing that when he played for the skins from time to time and of course when I said something I got blasted by everyone talking about how he was the next DG...blah blah blah....
Champ Bailey is a bitch.

To be fair to Champ, it's a lot tougher for the CB in the snow than for the WR. The WR already knows where he is going to go, whereas the CB has to be able to react, change direction, and break on the ball, which is much tougher in inclement weather.

That's true. What stood out for me last season was when Chad Johnson absolutely owned Champ during Monday Night Football last year
