I thought this is funny...

Sporting News Aug. 5 issue...
The article is too long for me to post, but it is about WR going across the middle and here is the players and how they ranked them...

"A spin through the middle"

Most Fearless
1. Hines Ward
2. Torry Holt
3. Laveranues Coles
4. Brandon Stokely

Least Courageous
1. Freddie Mitchell
2. Todd Pinkston
3. Travis Taylor

I got a kick that 2 or the recievers for least courageous are/were eagle players... :biggthump

Remember in the Eagles game when Mitchell(I think) flinched and dropped that 50 yard bomb just because Sean Taylor was in the vicinity...

I'm pretty sure that was Pinkston

I wouldn't exactly put Torry Holt in the most fearless category. I've seen him run out of bounds and short arm balls to prevent a hit so many times.

It was Pinkston, but ST wasn't in the area....Pinkston pulled up because Clark was around (although he might have thought it was Taylor).

There's a thin line between playing scared and playing smart, I would put Holt in the smart category. Harrison plays the same way, they avoid the big hits to play another day.

Smart maybe, fearless he's not.

Imagine going across the middle and seeing LaVar to your left and Sean Taylor to your right....do teams keep clean underwear on the sidelines?

I wouldn't blame'em if I saw those two comming at me.

even though he has kind of dissapeared the past couple years, I'd personally put Wayne Chrebet high up on the fearless list.

if TO doesn't play i think that the eagles are skrewed up the arse. Look at it, i think LJ Smit will have a GOOD year, but in terms of WRs they have no one, less production by TO mean less room for short passes to westbrook and the rest of the receivers suck,

There is a freeze frame of Pinkston stiff arming taylor and eagle fans play that as being a big deal, but i watched it over as it happened and it was that play if anyone remembers that pinkston stepped out of bounds then the refs called it in then we challenged, then the kept the ruling on the field even though it was obvious that he was out.

Also the dumbest thing i saw mitchell do(he did some really dumb shit), he caught a pass tripped over his dam legs then got up and picked up a first down(this was against us) and then to be cocky did the Gardner first down move( the one where he sticks out his arm) and then Mitchell was told by our players that he hadn't gotten the first down, he looked embarrassed as hell.

Re: I thought this is funny...

It is wonderful to fantasize about how terrified other teams' players will be with Lavar and Sean Taylor waiting for them over the middle. Problem is that those other guys in different colored jerseys collect paychecks too. AND some of them aren't the least bit afraid of either Lavar or Sean even if both of them bring their big brothers with them. No one here can really believe that no offensive coordinator dared to call a pattern over the middle against the Skins last year because the opponents' receivers refused to run the plays.

The reason fans need to fantasize about all these "fear factors" is because these players have not yet produced something called a "Winning Record". Until then, it's all just bluster. When they win, then it's real.
