Great Time for the Bye Week
We're all celebrating too much and so is Gibbs and the team probably to even think about the next opponent for a few days. We'd lay an egg if we had to play this Sunday. So just celebrate and enjoy the week. Everyone's earned it!

Re: Great Time for the Bye Week
Actually pretty perfect--we can fix the things that went wrong for three and a half quarters, and revel in the good vibe from the win. It definetly makes these two weeks bearable.

Re: Great Time for the Bye Week
I was thinking the same thought that we lucked out with the early bye.
1) Brunell gets to have 'mini-camp' with the starting O. 2) Team gets to come down from biggest win, in my opinion, since 1991 Super Bowl 3) Gibbs will get them to focus on Seattle ....3-0....how would have thought it would even be possible. |
Re: Great Time for the Bye Week
Mark Brunell man or myth?
He proved to be all pro tonight. He inept first few quarters perhaps a mirage in the Gibbs scheme of the unbeaten. |
Re: Great Time for the Bye Week
He did throw that one lousy interception, but even through the first three quarters I don't think he did anything that really killed us. I guess that is what Gibbs' wanted.
And when given the opportunity, he really took advantage of it. One thing I noticed though: Santana Moss is ridiculously fast. I mean, the quarterback drops back like five steps and then basically throws it as far as he can and Moss catches it in stride. It is absolutely insane how fast he is. |

Underthrow it and it's a bat down or even an Int. Overthrow it and waste the chance of a TD. It was perfect. I hope that's a sign of things to come and that last year is history. :dallas: Oh, yeah, we HAD Dallas!!!! |

I have been saying this since week one. Both he and Patten are faster than just about any DB in the league. Any time they ran posts or flys during the Bears game they were open by 5 or 6 yards. We needed to just drop back and throw it as far as possible and watch those guys run under it and score. No more trying to put it in the perfect place downfield. The perfect place is as far as Brunell can throw it. |
Re: Great Time for the Bye Week
Anybody know what happen to Patten when he limped off the field??? Did he strain a hammy or did he just cramp up???
Great Win.... |
Re: Great Time for the Bye Week
Great time for the bye, I agree that after last night we'd probably be ripe for a Monday Night letdown.
Hopefully we can get some guys healthy too. It would be nice to get Hall back at 100%. I was praying the game wouldn't come down to Novak having to nail a 45 yarder for the 'W'. But hey he did have a game saving tackle on the return! |
Re: Great Time for the Bye Week
why can't our offense ALWAYS be like what we ran the last 4minutes... I'm a big fan of the new find moss and bombs away offense ;)

Re: Great Time for the Bye Week
Great time for the bye week. Since Gibbs took over he has been searching for something to build upon offensively. He may have found something last night. It is difficult to stop a deep passing attack AND the running game. If they can get the ball deep a few times per game it will open up alot of things for the rest of the O especially Portis. At very least we dont have to mourn over a loss for two weeks. This one is worth two weeks of celebration for us long suffering fans. Nothing could be better than the look on the Tuna's face as the game ended and the silence of the Dallas crowd. Loved it.
Peace guys. |

dude you said it. i bet Brunell was shocked that Moss could catch up to his *for the life of me this is all i got* throw. that second one just proved it. instead of constantly checking down underneath cuz he thinks they're "covered", Brunell better have learned to have more faith in these guys's speed and just chuck it way ahead of them and let them go get it. |
Re: Great Time for the Bye Week
JUST HEARD GIIBS SAY ON HIS COACHES SHOW THAT HE WOULD RATHER HAVE A BYE WEEK AROUND WEEK 8. BUT HE ALSO SAYS THAT THIS WEEK COULD REALLY BENEFIT US. BRING ON SEATLE:httr:
