Skins-Cowboys: Offensive MVP
Who gets it, vote and discuss. Pretty much looks like a 2 horse race!

Re: Skins-Cowboys: Offensive MVP
santana moss. they said on SC that he suggested the plays and that his double-move had been working all night. in second i'd say brunell for finally getting the ball to him.

Re: Skins-Cowboys: Offensive MVP
I voted for Moss. Those were some tough grabs. Real good job.
Brunell was a close second. That run was crucial. |
Re: Skins-Cowboys: Offensive MVP
Has to be Moss - did you not see Brunell's first three quarters? He underthrew Moss after he burnt the corner in the endzone, and just about every other pass (even the little outs) floated. Thank god he pulled it together, but no way Brunell is even close to Moss.
Plus, take away Moss, and Brunell is 15/29 for 132 yards...not too impressive. (I know - he would have thrown to somebody else on those 5 plays, but Moss made it happen - that's my point). My $.02, anyway! |
Re: Skins-Cowboys: Offensive MVP
This could obviously go either way but I'm going with Brunell 1 and Moss 1A.
Brunell gets the nod because of his big scramble to set up a convertable 4th and 3, and his bombs to Moss were right on the freakin' money and should finally dispell this myth that he can't throw deep effectively. Moss is a very close second, man does this guy have wheels or what? He is so fluid and doesn't loose a step when moving in and out of his breaks. Pure playmaker and does anyone miss Coles now?? Any regrets now?? Moss is the playmaker we thought we were getting in Coles. |

I voted for Brunell but if this true I'd switch to Moss. My initial reason for picking Brunell is that I think he played solid and mistake-free (except for that ridiculous int early on) ball and didn't let the lackluster play calling get them down. When it was time to light it up he turned it on and went to town. He scrambled a little bit and made plays. That's the reason Gibbs wants him starting. |

I'm (obviously) glad Brunell connected on those two, but what about the long balls he completely botched in the first half? I'm going to withhold judgment on Brunell till after the next game to see if Brunell is finally settled in or what. 3 quarters of awful (he never moved us inside the 27) + 1 quarter of inspired ain't going to cut it against a better team. If he shows up for more than half the game against the hawks, then I'll start believing he can take this team somewhere. |
Re: Skins-Cowboys: Offensive MVP
I'm Ramseyfan and I'm going with Brunell. Moss played an overall better game than Brunell, but Brunell was getting pounded throughout the game, looked horrible the first 57 minutes of play, yet still manages to pull it off. I pray that Brunell continues to make my previous assessment of Brunell look dumb.

The first one to Moss in the endzone was just inches away from being 6, not a big deal. The underthrow to Patten wasn't pretty, but let's remember he's had limited time working with these WRs so obviously their timing isn't quite there yet. |

I would pretty much agree with you but, Brunell was getting pounded throughout the game and he won the game and we're only talking about last night's game. I don't care if we win every single game in an ugly way, so long as we win them. We are not saying Brunell has totally redeemed himself as a QB based on two excellent passes. |

Fair enough! I still like Moss for this game - he just looked like a true #1 receiver option, which we haven't had since...when??? |

I don't feel he has "proven" he can throw deep *consistently* yet. The one in the endzone was also 6 inches from being an interception - that is a big deal. If you are going to be off, you have to overthrow - underthrowing (or floating) can kill us. We may have to agree to disagree on this one, though... |

No disagreeing today! Today is too sweet of a day to have any disagreements. We can save those for later days. For now we bask in the sweet glory of defeating the roids. |

Haha - amen to that! Unfortunately, Matty would have to shut down the boards to avoid all disagreements. Either that, or change the poll to choose between Moss and Betts for offensive MVP (sorry Ladell!). |
Re: Skins-Cowboys: Offensive MVP
I voted for Nick Novak for making both extra points (which we are quite capable of blowing against Dallas), and a game saving tackle on special teams on our last kickoff.
