There will be an autopsy performed where the medical examiner will be able to determine whether in fact the kids were strangled, and based on the pressure points and bruising on the neck he'll be able to tell whether it was human hands or something like a snake doing the strangling.
Long story short evidence will come to light, I wouldn't worry about it.
