I'll give the Eagles credit. This is exactly what I was afraid would happen. while all my friends were talking Super Bowl I stayed reserved.
I don't know what I would have done differently not knowing what the Eagles were going to do. I might have started Cousins and tried to see how he did against the Eagles defense, BUT.... this game is also all about money. People came to the game to see RG3. The reason our first game was Mon. night was so all the league could see RG3. People and media would have been upset if the team put Cousin in to start.
but keep in mind his timing might have been better with Morris and the WR's. If it looked like a cluster then I would have put RG3 in just to try and make something happen. But that's why I'm not a HC.  |
In defense of the eagles o-line, all linemen hold, it is the good defensive players that adjust and counter to make the plays. I also disagree with the Cousins scenario, personally I don't care who is under center as long as the Skins win. I look at this game as Roberts preseason game. We knew and the coaches knew he would be rusty. I am not going to go so far as to argue they were giving this game away to get Robert game time conditioning. If the adjustments made in the second half are any indication, we will see a better offense with less turnovers in the first half against GB.
