know this or are we inferring things from all the drama following his injury?
I mean, why would a competitor like him gimp himself? It doesn't ration out with what he know of him and his drive thus far.
I can understand him refusing the designed runs, of which there were very few towards then end of last season, but not the read option. I think he's still tentative (and why shouldn't he be?) and that is why there was no read option used last night. He has to trust himself for them to use it. I got the sense (and going strictly off my eye test here, because I can recall nothing that I've read, seen or heard that he "doesn't want the read option") that he didn't start to trust himself physically until towards the end of the game and
after he had taken some hits and shook them off ... and I think it's going to take him some time before he has that confidence in his athleticism again.
I find all of it understandable.
