Again what if: Cousins plays well, looks good in a traditional West Coast Offense, and the team wins all 3 games? would that be good enough reason to keep MS one more yr, start Cousins next yr, and only bring someone new in at DC? Then between the draft and the $36 mill upgrade the OL, WR, and defense side of the ball?

If Robert can't outscore his own defense, Kirk won't be able to either.
Robert's also running for his life and sometimes getting nailed a second after receiving the snap. I don't think Kirk is any quicker or a better escape artist.
As great as this line seems to be at run blocking, they're as equally bad at pass protection. It doesn't make sense, but I don't think any QB could succeed behind Tyler Polumbus and this line.
If Shanahan's real objective here is keeping a young QB and team asset healthy as the team struggles, we should be playing Rex Grossman the rest of the way.
I bet we'll see him before the year is over, probably when Polumbus lets Osi Umenyiora run right past him and concusses Kirk this week.
